Summer Camp Reading 2025
MY OWN SUMMER CAMP JOURNEY
Things have been increasingly hectic for me over the past few years and they, unfortunately, show no sign of slowing down. Despite everything else going on in my life, I tried to run my own Summer Camp within the Infinite Imaginations Discord server, participate in ArtFight, play Game of Tomes, stream on Twitch, and complete forty articles for this WorldAnvil challenge. I managed to successfully do these things, even though I wasn't completely satisfied with any of the results. Still, I just keep trying to keep praying and keep going and live by the motto of Just Do Stuff.
In the end, I managed the following. Take a look at the page below to find my personal stats.40/32
copper - silver - gold - diamond
⭐Kinda Polished⭐
I am most pleased with these. :)⚒️Neatened Slightly⚒️
Not the best, but better than nothing. :/☹️Very Disappointing☹️
I want to cry, or edit them right now, or both, but even though I really don't expect to win anything at all, I'm going to try to be a good little Anvilite Bean and follow the rules while also not beating myself up too much about what I was unable to do because the month was hectic and I'm still going through a lot but I made Diamond and published forty articles so I should feel at least somewhat accomplished or something, probably. ;'(Nourishment

COMMUNITY READING
I wanted to feature articles from my Accountability Buddies from last month! That means DreamCartographer for ArtFight, and The Big G for WorldAnvil's Summer Camp! I know there probably aren't 10 listed in this section, but The Big G wrote 40 and I read through all of them and commented. Check out The Big G's Summer Camp Progress Page to see them all :D But If you keep scrolling, you will see I also did a lot of reading for judging. XP
A more in-depth look at an aspect of one of the MOST FEARED articles from Summer Camp 2023, Everything We Know About the Pink Cocktail is a delightful peek behind the scenes as well. In the form of a Wiki article in-progress, we get to see the edits, notations, and banter between a few contributors trying to make sense of the situation and publish the truth to those who would like to know it. The epic thing about this is, no matter how much or how little detail this article has, or how many times it is altered, it will all be part of the world. It's very immersive! Something I SUPER love in this kind of worldbuilding. It makes me feel part of something, and it makes me even more curious about the characters and setting. Well done, DreamCartographer! ;)
Anotther great one from The Big G. This amazing mascot animal celebrity from a town that had previously been established as a great place to visit and a grand tourist attraction. I love the use of the article template and prompt. This is fascinating! I like how some of my questions about this (that I developed naturally from reading previous articles) were answered here! I was wondering what is considered too much use of machine? And where is the line drawn? But it is very immersive and realistic to have peoples who disagree even on those facts. How there are some sticklers and some more lenient persons. The quotes also gave a nice perspective from those in-world, and the descriptions did a good job in explaining how everyone is different, even if they somewhat agree. Like all things, this is a varied subject, and I am so glad it isn't a clear-cut black and white thing that would be dull and unrealistic! Nice article, The Big G!
Culinary WorldBuilding is such an art! It's amazing when people make recipes from their own writing and works, and The Big G has even provided instructions so that anyone else can make this Finishing Cake, too! Not only is it a fun article, it helps drive home themes that are already so very present in the overarching story.
JUDGING YOUR ARTICLES
I was the judge of the Formation Known for its Adaptability category!
Everyone who entered had some really interesting entries, but there were a few that really caught my attention! I did try putting stickers on all 119 entries, but then the Summer Camp sticker ran out partway through X::( I felt bad like a sticker hog! And, yes, I have a dragon's hoard stockpile of Anvil Coins. I'm talkin' Scrooge McDuck level. So now I'm scared to use stickers DX
Anyway, the articles linked below either had intriguing concepts, lovely layouts, beautiful designs, captivating writing, some secret special charm, or any combination of those elements! Take a look and see what amazing beans were up to. Take a click yourself and see the comments I left on each one!
I did read a few articles on my streams, but since I didn't stream much this month (a lot going on :/ ) I didn't include them below. But I usually do offer! If you ever see me streaming live at Twitch.tv/WordiGirl, feel free to pop in, shout you're from WorldAnvil, and ask me to give yours a lookover! It can be listed here or be something I've never seen before. It could even be something I've read a billion times. XP I'm glad to continue exploring and shouting out this wonderful community of creatives!
The Official Results!
Now that the Summer Camp Award Ceremony has already happened, I can reveal my top article picks!
The following were SOOOOO close and it was SOOOO difficult to choose a winner ;'( because everybean here is so super talented! I wanted them all to tie, but they couldn't, so I forced some ranks...
Fumayan Mercy Regiment by Scalenex placed FIFTH because I loved the worldbuilding laid out in this one article alone that made me want to explore more of the world and find out more of the characters! I could imagine so many stories sprouting from this. Scalenex always seems to catch my attention with such amazing articles! <3
The Silver Skull by Wraithgard565 placed FOURTH for similar reasons. I love when articles are informative while still telling bits of story that give personality and bring the world to life! When my curiosity is piqued, and I begin to imagine scenes with the characters while simultaneously discovering the inner workings of the author's worldbuilding, I feel it has been done in a very satisfying way! <3
The Totally Bat Squad by TaraFaeBelle placed THIRD! I appreciated all the different mediums present here. We had a video, multiple images, some song lyrics, and cute in-character postits. The actual subject matter for this article was also intriguing! It helped me to figure out a lot of the lore from Game of Tomes that I had been behind on, too, in a very entertaining way. And people who are not familiar with Game of Tomes can still equally enjoy the article! <3
Knights of Agamus by VariableX placed SECOND! My brain was intrigued when I stumbled upon this world and its author. The design is as interesting as the words and concepts themselves. It all is quite unfathomable, when you begin to delve into the lore of the Gri'x. I feel that I have seen something of it before, but this one really stopped me in my tracks. I want to know so much about it, but it feels like I will never know everything about it! The vibe of the world comes across very well through this article, and it made me curious to do even more exploring. This is definitely a world one can get lost in, word-wise, design-wise, mood-wise, and in every single way imaginable! <3
The Azure Lancers by DaewomerEshe placed FIRST! The wording of this was just lovely, and the story was told so beautifully. This article caught and held my attention when I first saw it, and my brain kept going back to it! The tragic tale of a formation that was once so highly revered but whose name has now been tarnished throughout the lands. I felt the emotions of the characters. The disappointment, the anger, the melancholy reminiscence...all of it was so vivid. I imagined stories. I could picture the graceful lancers as they danced through the battlefields. I could imagine their strong and noble statures slowly diminishing over time. I could imagine villagers telling tales of how great they were in their heyday, and explaining with disgust how corruption managed to seep through with the passing of generations. A piece that makes me feel immersed in the world is always a favorite of mine. God bless and thanks for sharing this bittersweet article! <3
MY UPCOMING PLANS
JUST TRYING TO KEEP PRAYING AND KEEP GOING
and figure things out, tbh
I truthfully don't know what is going to happen, but I am trying to do the best I can. I am trying to stay current on supporter perks for my few monetary contributors. I am trying to update free followers as well. I am trying to make money and pay my mortgage and bills and get out of debt somehow. I am trying to do what I can. I can only try. And keep praying. And keep going.
I didn't even stream much this month, except one silent fundraising attempt that didn't really raise any funds. :/ I need to get my schedule together for next month. I want to find out how to get more consistent contributors, but I need to be a consistent creator.
As for specific WorldBuilding plans, I will be looking out for the next WorldAnvil challenges, as they are when I do the most work in this space. I also want to improve the articles I was unable to shape up in time for the judging cutoff. Stew is still going to update Temporary Dependencies on that stuff. That's more supporter content. I was also supposed to be part of an anthology, but a lot of hectic drama is going on. I don't usually like to collaborate for that very reason, but I was trying to get my name out there and hopefully gain more followers or something. We'll see what happens, I guess.

Congratulations on reaching your diamond goal!
Thanks. Hope you enjoyed your own Summer Camp journey. <3
