It's A Brand New CAR...

In the early days of W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P., the granting of Computerized Alert Relay Systems was not an overly special occasion. Most agents either used company cars, had their own cars, or didn't require one at all. The CAR technology was very minimal at that time. Just as its name suggests, Computerized Alert Relay Systems were just that. They relayed information from the agency to the operative. There was no customized AI persona.   Over time, as the company began to experiment with more advanced technologies. Due to this fact, only certain employees, whom the organization deemed trustworthy, were allowed to test the new machines. These systems were fitted into existing vehicles, either owned by the agency or the agents themselves. The technology still had little function besides relaying information, but the process was more automated. Soon after, WILLOWISP developed a way for the agents to speak to the computer and input more advanced commands.   These days, the gifting of a CAR is an honor only certain agents are chosen for. And, among those chosen, it is a privilege to be able to pick out the vehicle of your choice rather than it simply being assigned to you. Some CARs are randomly assigned, while others are selected by the Commander directly over said agent.   Some agents will turn down the offer to receive a personified AI vehicle in fears that the machine may be spying on them.   Most Junior Sprouts are gifted CARs after successfully graduating their program and duties.
