What Is "The Pink Cocktail"?

The Pink Cocktail (also known as The Cocktail, The Poison Cocktail, The Pink Lemonade
Editor 130, 22 hours ago
The Pink Cocktail has not yet been confirmed to be a type of lemonade; why is this name here? And no, the so-called lemon slice doesn't count as an explanation.
and The Pink Drink) is the unofficial name of a deadly liquid treated and prepared to give it the illusion of being a harmless beverage. Despite being a mixture of industrial-strength chemicals and toxins, it is only dangerous once ingested. This only makes it even more insidious, however, as the drink is capable of causing death within 2-5 minutes.

I believe our most accurate source said approx. 8 minutes?

Editor 209
That's just a conservative estimate. Honestly, I still think 30 seconds is the most accurate.

Editor 555
@Editor_209 You think Ferro revealed what the cocktail was, made the antidote from scratch, drank the antidote and had it kick in fast enough to save him in 30 seconds?

Editor 209
Source? Who said he made it from scratch? It's much more likely he already had the antidote with him. The type of chemicals he was most likely using would 100% kill you in seconds, not minutes.

Editor 41
@Editor_209, the timeframe you have cited has been found to come from a flyer circulated by a 21st Itera trainee. I have reason to believe this trainee was exaggerating for dramatic effect. As Scholars we have a responsibility to be as thorough and accurate as possible.
The 2-5 minutes estimate is an educated guess based on what we know about the possible ingredients and their interactions. Therefore it will remain until further notice.

Can we change this to HDDI as well?

Reason?

Editor 130
@Editor_41 So we don't get flagged as potential criminals if this document gets detected and autoscanned.

Editor 612
I don't think mincing our words will help anyone, @Editor_130. It's important that we be clear exactly what we're talking about. We can't be afraid of the head Scholars, otherwise why even do this?

Editor 130
@Editor_612 I didn't say I was afraid. All it takes is for certain terms to be picked up by the system for us to get reported straight to the Council. There's been a lot of tension lately; we can't afford to not be careful.

Editor 41
@Editor_130 That's why this document is encrypted, so it can't be autoscanned at all. The 3113 authentication system should also almost be ready. @Editor_555 any updates?

Editor 555
Already posted them in the changelog.

Editor 130
@Editor_41 @Editor_555 Almost ready? I thought it was supposed to have been finished last week!

Editor 555
@Editor_130 Hit a couple of snags. Relax. It's not like we're keeping our diaries in this thing.

Editor 209
@Editor_555 I heard the 3113 framework has some security vulnerabilities, it that true?

Editor 555
@Editor_209 Who the heck told you that? Don't listen to that hearsay. I know what I'm doing.
the first of several showcased in what has become known as the Philosophy Incident. It is unclear how many times this drink has been made in total, or whether a surplus supply exists.

Who Made It?

The 20th Itera's Most Feared Scholar

Scholar Ferro (Itera E-20) has become infamously known as "20th Itera's Most Feared Scholar" for having crafted a massive number of HDDIs over the course of his career. This was discovered in the aftermath of his recent "philosophy class", in which he demonstrated the use of several of his most dangerous inventions to the three Scholar trainees in attendance. It is unknown exactly how many he has created, but estimates are stated to be somewhere in the 500s.   While there have been rumours in the past of Scholar Ferro engaging in suspicious activity and unsafe practices, including the running of dangerous experiments, Scholar Ferro has for the most part been held in high regard. Not only does he have a track record of excellent research, he also holds the esteemed position of Head of the Imaginarium. These are the two main reasons his colleagues were so thoroughly blindsided by the truth [citation needed].

Why Are We Talking About it?

The Pink Cocktail is the only one of Scholar Ferro's HDDIs we have any significant amount of information on. The details surrounding the investigation of his inventions have remained highly confidential up until now. However, one of the trainees who was directly involved in the Philosophy Incident has chosen to anonymously share some of what they know.

Do we have any info on who this might be? Talking to them some more would help us a lot.

While their post has since been scrubbed from the InfoNet, news of the Pink Cocktail's existence has spread fast. This has lead to rumours and misinformation, but also opened the doors to further independent research, study and, ultimately, safeguarding against Scholar Ferro's potential future machinations. The purpose of this document is to cut through the noise and paint a more complete and up-to-date picture of this now notorious drink.   The higher-ranking Scholars' secrecy has only contributed to the current atmosphere of confusion, fear and dread.

Do we have any evidence to back this up?

Replies

Editor 555
Do we need any? Everyone can see it.

Editor 130
@Editor_555 Calling out high-ranking Scholars as the direct cause of recent unrest will put us at risk if this document is ever discovered. We need something to point back to in case we have to defend ourselves.

Editor 612
I might be able to interview a couple of people in the Technology Division... but I'm not sure if that would count as leaking info before the doc is ready? @Editor_41

Editor 41
@Editor_612 It depends. Do you have anyone specific in mind? We might have to vet them. Also if they say no, that could point to them being a potential risk. We don't want anyone opposed to this knowing about it first. Message me more info about these people and we can talk further.

Editor 555
@Editor_41 What happened to transparent communication between all members? And how come I don't have the link to message you? I'm only able to receive messages from you, not the other way round.

Editor 41
@Editor_555 I only give out that link to team members who I need to quickly receive important information from that would be too extensive and private to add to the document. I decide this on a case-by-case basis. @Editor_612, you will receive your link within the next two hours.

Furthermore, the Pink Cocktail is by design innocuous enough to be easily used against regular Variants as a tool of assassination. Knowledge is power. If we can better understand the Pink Cocktail, how it was made, and how to neutralize it, not only will we be able to protect our fellow Variants, but in applying our findings to other projects take what was meant for evil and use it for good.

This is so epic! I love how you are structuring it like a wiki! The conversations between the editors are really immersive (and amusing). <3 Great work!
