Special Operation Unit

The units of the Special Operations division of the Firen Military are unique in their ability to respond to a variety of situations. Sent to perform assassinations of enemy heads of state all the way to rescue missions from criminal within 'Allied' nations territory, they are constantly forced to adapt to the unknown.

Composition

These units are composed of the pairs of Special Operators, usually 6 pairs with a pair of commandants. These are connected with a team of special intelligence members, who work to inform the unit as mush as possible during the operations regarding what has been previously acquired and what can be found throughout, either through cyber infiltrations or eyes on the ground. Smaller than the usual Firen unit, they serve well in tight, difficult situations requiring discretion. Special Operations are never official actions taken, and operators work to ensure that no leads to incriminate Firina as the source of their actions.

Commanders generally organize multiple Units when additional operators are needed to work unified. Usually these are simultaneous missions, over vast areas of space. However, they may also act as the commandants of the unit in the case of a highly precise mission.

Use/Notoriety

Special Operations members are not usually famous for much, though their action often have large ripple effects on Erina. Their regular missions include killing or capturing important members of enemy militaries far behind enemy lines, stealing national interest criminals from other nations, or slaughtering those that traffic Fire Elementals and rescuing their victims. These actions may not always be silent as the dust settles and the world's eyes land on the results. And while confirming the actual presence of Special Operators would be nearly impossible, those that they do rescue are unlikely to forget the wolf mask that their valiant hero wore, while others live in fear of the rumours of the mask that means that your death is inevitable. Their targets often blow off these rumours for yet another Firen mercenary group, though these people rarely live long lives. Certainly not long enough to discover the truth.

Kit

The units are equipped with crystal-weave clothing allowing them to blend with their background around them, and wolf masks that work to hide the glowing eyes of the Fire Elementals while also serving as crystal-tech eyewear. These allow for communication behind the mask, as well as targeting, and many other functions. Extremely power explosive munitions are also standard for the unit. For the rest of their armaments, most operators have their own preferences for weapons, and techniques, assisting in the mercenary 'Bring your own sword' look that helps them hide even in plain sight. Each operator is a master in whatever weapon they choose to wield. This diversity within the unit allows them to face a large variety of situations, and it's rare for a unit to actually be composed of a group with uniform abilities. Generally only the paired operators have similar talents, and even then, they are paired due to being complementary not conformity.
