While experimenting with various genetically modified or lab-created organisms, W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. Scientists have developed and derived multiple substances that generate a plethora of uses. Each subspecies of Diffuser Flower has been genetically bred to produce a specific result. There are several types of these flowers, but all of them are known for their intense scent and significant effectiveness on the human body and mind. While these effects are most prevalent and heightened when plants are alive, there have been several attempts to extract and harness the essence of each so that they may exist and be of use even within environments that do not pertain to the upkeep of plant life. One such method is the creation of 4m8r0514: the designated umbrella term codename for liquids and oils extracted from Diffuser Flowers. Similar attempts at capturing the essence of these plants have been made, including the production of p07p0urr1, which involves drying out the plants. 4m8r0514 extracts, however, are intended to preserve as much life from these plants as possible. Liquids are drawn from the leaves and other plant parts while they yet live, using processes that include steam distillation or cold pressing. Due to the fresher nature of the latter, 4m8r0514 is thought to be more effective than p07p0urr1. All versions of these extracts are also more portable than the Diffuser Flowers themselves and can be transported with ease. In addition, research has been conducted to prove that having the condensed and concentrated essence of these flowers tend to contribute to even more exaggerated effects on the human body and mind than a normal plant can cause even after prolonged exposure.

Commander McCox gives newbies the rundown: Man. Those sci guys really like to name stuff with numbers, huh? It all looks like gibberish, I'm sure, but there's actually a method behind it. You have to pay close attention to everything. One time, I sent an Intern to the lab to pick up something else, but the kid came back with 4m8r0514 instead. Good thing I noticed because that was not the stuff I thought it was. I almost sent an agent away on a mission with it! Wouldn't have worked the right way, either. That agent would have been hung out to dry, and it would have been all my fault. Well, actually, the intern's fault. But really my fault because I am the one who sent the intern and didn't check the contents before passing it around. Simple mistakes are made when everyone places the blame on everyone else. And when those lab guys keep throwing random numbers on everything. Seriously. They need to come up with a better method.
