Idris ap Bryn (I-dris ap BRIN)
Inventor of Public Transit with Magnetic Resonance Drives
Idris ap Bryn of Brynwydd was a civic engineer whose heart lay in the movement of people. Where Yuna Kim had shown that magnetic resonance could lift and propel, Idris dreamed of harnessing that gift for entire cities. His upbringing among crowded markets and narrow streets gave him a clear sense of how transformative mobility could be.
Between 1928 and 1932, he designed the first hover-barges for public use. These broad platforms skimmed above the ground, carrying dozens of passengers at a time with a gentle hum. They transformed urban life, allowing citizens to traverse districts swiftly, safely, and without the choking dust of carts or the clatter of hooves.
Idris insisted that this was more than transport; it was social architecture. He believed in shared journeys and the mingling of classes, envisioning hover-barges as floating commons that knit communities together. In Brynwydd and beyond, his name became synonymous with the promise of collective mobility.
