The Charter of Rights & Duties of the Accord
Once rights were guaranteed, responsibilities had to be defined. The Charter of Rights and Duties balanced privilege with obligation, declaring that freedom was sustained only by contribution. It transformed the language of entitlement into one of stewardship.
Under this charter, cooperatives pledged to preserve knowledge, offer aid in crisis, and maintain transparency in governance. The Accord ceased to be a defensive alliance and became a living ethic: every benefit carried the weight of shared duty.
By aligning liberty with accountability, the Charter ensured Koina’s endurance. It taught that to act freely is to act responsibly — that fellowship is not a condition granted, but a discipline maintained.
