Paragons: Legends
The First Serialized Paragons
The Legends were introduced as a special serialized adventure released during the Festival Days of 991 ZC, commemorating the moment the final sovereign region joined the Cooperative. Rather than producing a simple celebration piece, the creators envisioned a story that reflected the sense of unity growing across the world. The series begins with the Earth-Mother essence—an ancient generative presence tied to land, life, and continuity—stirring within the Dreaming. In that realm, where past, present, imagined, and ancestral truths coexist, this presence recognizes that humanity is entering a new era of shared purpose.
Responding to this change, the Earth-Mother reached toward the Mortal Realm and shaped a vast meeting structure at the heart of Aotearoa: an immense earthen formation grown rather than built, with rising spires, interior hollows, and chambers shaped by natural geometry. The place feels organic, timeless, and purposeful—neither temple nor fortress, but a gathering point formed from the land’s own memory. It becomes the anchor point between the Dreaming and the waking world.
With this place established, the Dreaming turned inward. From memory, story, spirit, and cultural resonance, it gave shape to individuals who embodied the strengths and lessons of their peoples. These paragons were not “chosen”—they were realized, stepping into existence with the sense that they had always belonged to the world’s unfolding narrative. Drawn toward the earthen structure, they encountered one another for the first time.
From that point, the serialized story follows the group as they learn to work together despite their differences in temperament, power, and philosophy. Their purpose is not conquest or domination but stewardship—responding to disturbances, healing fractures, and acting where cooperation is fragile or newly forming. Their stories emphasize connection, responsibility, and the understanding that strength takes many forms. As the first paragon ensemble recognized across all major storytelling media, The Legends established the team-format tradition and remain the touchstone for collaborative paragon narratives to this day.

The Legends
Alp Er Tunga
Alp Er Tunga moves with the certainty of someone who has seen too much to waste time on hesitation. He is a front-line fighter shaped by wide horizons and hard lessons, carrying both the discipline of a seasoned protector and the stubborn pride of someone who refuses to be outmatched by fate. His bursts of speed and power come not from rage but from a deep instinct to shield those who stand behind him. Though his presence can feel imposing, he has a quiet steadiness that settles others in moments of chaos, a reminder that strength isn’t loud—it's reliable.
Arjuna
Arjuna embodies precision in both thought and action, navigating conflict with the same quiet focus he brings to each arrow he looses. His calm demeanor masks a deep internal discipline, a commitment to clarity that guides him through emotional and physical battles alike. He reads intention as easily as trajectories, sensing the shape of a moment before it unfolds. Though his power makes him formidable, his real influence comes from the way he steadies others, bringing balance to situations that threaten to spiral into fear or confusion.
Coyote
Coyote moves through the world with a grin that promises trouble, though rarely the harmful kind. His pranks and illusions are lessons wrapped in laughter, nudging others to see their assumptions from the side rather than head-on. Beneath the mischief is a deep curiosity and an instinct for connection; he understands people by how they react when the ground shifts a little under their feet. Even in danger, his playful spirit lightens the air, reminding allies that fear loses power when you refuse to treat it with reverence.
Faro
Faro moves like water because they feel like it—fluid in form, gentle in temperament, and always attuned to the emotional undercurrents around him. Their ability to shift shape is less about spectacle and more about harmony, adjusting themself in ways that soothe tension or restore balance. Though serene on the surface, Faro carries quiet strength; water may yield, but it also reshapes stone. They bring that same patience to their companions, grounding them with empathy and soft resilience.
Hercle
Hercle’s strength is raw, monumental, and unmistakably shaped by compassion rather than aggression. He is the kind of hero who stands between danger and everyone else without needing to be asked, trusting his instincts to guide his hand. Though his sheer power is legendary, his gentleness defines him—an anchor for allies who rely on his grounded presence as much as his force. Hercle doesn’t seek grandeur; he protects because the world is quieter and kinder when he does.
Hermes
Hermes thrives on motion—mental, physical, emotional—and seems restless only when standing still. He delights in puzzles, crossroads, and the small moments where a clever idea changes everything. His speed is rivaled only by his talent for finding safe paths others overlook, guiding companions with quick wit and a mapmaker’s intuition. Though he teases and improvises constantly, his charm masks a deeply rooted desire to help people get where they’re meant to go, even when they don’t yet know the way.
Hero Twin
Hunahpu
Hunahpu carries the restless spark of a born trickster, a whirlwind of daring ideas and impulsive leaps that somehow land him on his feet more often than they should. He learns by doing, usually at full speed, and often dragging his brother into schemes that blur the line between brilliance and disaster. Yet beneath the bravado is a heart wired for loyalty; Hunahpu feels danger before he thinks it through and moves first to protect others, even when the odds aren’t in his favor. His power to reshape people and objects fits him perfectly—he sees the world as something elastic, a puzzle meant to be bent until it reveals a new path.
Hero Twin
Xbalanque
Xbalanque is the calmer current beside his brother’s storm, a sharp observer who measures a situation long before he commits to it. He isn’t quieter because he lacks confidence—he’s quieter because he listens, learns, and only strikes when he knows the moment is right. His transformations are deliberate rather than chaotic, shaped by intent rather than impulse. Although he and Hunahpu argue constantly, their disagreements have the cadence of a lifelong rhythm; neither twin truly functions without the other. In battle or in mischief, Xbalanque’s insight steadies the team, turning their combined strength into something far greater than either could manage alone.
Imhotep
Imhotep approaches every challenge like an intricate structure waiting to be understood. His mind is always assembling and rearranging pieces—ideas, materials, emotions—into something functional and elegant. He forgets simplicity only because complexity fascinates him; he sees potential where others see limitation. Beneath the analytical exterior is genuine wonder, a belief that knowledge is a kind of kindness when shared wisely. Imhotep teaches not through lectures but through the quiet act of building clarity.
Jān ibn Jān
Jān ibn Jān walks the line between fire and spirit, a being shaped by curiosity and an innate drive to understand the world’s hidden layers. Their fire is not destructive but revelatory, burning away illusion and hesitation. Though enigmatic, they are never cruel—their riddles guide rather than confuse, nudging others toward insight. Their shapeshifting is a natural extension of their fluid identity, a reminder that form is a tool, not a limitation.
Jumong
Jumong stands as a calm center in turbulent spaces, carrying himself with quiet authority and a sense of duty that never feels self-important. His ability to disarm without harm reflects his philosophy: strength should prevent pain, not cause it. Though serious in posture, he is approachable in spirit, offering clear direction when others feel lost. Jumong’s leadership is built on respect—earned, never demanded—and his presence has a way of turning uncertainty into purpose.
Mabon ap Modron
Mabon carries a brightness that feels almost out of place in dark times, radiating hope with an ease that never tips into naivety. His magic stirs gently rather than explosively, illuminating spaces—literal and emotional—with soft warmth. Though young, he has an uncanny sense for when others are faltering, offering encouragement that feels less like comfort and more like a small spark of borrowed strength. Mabon’s optimism isn’t a shield; it’s a lantern.
Makeda
Makeda speaks with warmth, listens with intent, and mediates with a grace that disarms even the most hardened negotiators. Her presence encourages honesty not because she demands it, but because she makes people feel understood. Her foresight extends beyond emotion—she senses the likely outcomes of words long before they’re spoken, guiding groups toward solutions that honor everyone at the table. Makeda’s strength is subtle but undeniable; she turns conflict into connection with a steady, open heart.
Nyai Loro Idul
Nyai Loro Idul emanates a calm that settles over anyone within her reach, carrying the depth of tides in her voice and presence. She guides rather than commands, offering visions that clarify rather than overwhelm. Her wisdom is rooted in empathy—she feels the emotional weight others carry and helps them navigate it with gentle precision. Though serene, she is far from passive; when the situation calls for it, her power moves like the sea itself, reshaping what stands in its way.
Sigurd
Sigurd meets every challenge with straightforward resolve, the kind of honesty that cuts through fear as cleanly as a blade. His resilience under heat and pressure has forged a warrior who endures rather than overwhelms, carrying a stubborn refusal to back down from threats that would break lesser fighters. Subtlety has never been his strong suit, but loyalty and courage radiate from him with disarming sincerity. Where Sigurd stands, others find the bravery to stand with him.
Sun Wukong
Sun Wukong is joy in motion, a whirlwind of bravado, humor, and endless curiosity. His transformations are flashy by design—half mischief, half challenge—pushing others to match his energy or be left behind. Beneath the swagger lies a surprising warmth; he protects his companions with fierce enthusiasm, even if he never stops cracking jokes while doing it. Wukong’s presence turns battles into performances and problems into games, reminding everyone that confidence can be a weapon all its own.
Tomoe Gozen
Tomoe Gozen carries herself with sharp purpose, every motion disciplined and deliberate. She reads battlefields—physical or emotional—with the cool focus of someone who refuses to be surprised twice. Her precision is not coldness but clarity; she protects through decisive action rather than distant strategy. Beneath her restraint is a flicker of dry humor and a fierce loyalty to those who have earned her respect. Tomoe is not one to boast, but her presence alone shifts the terms of any fight.
