Specie: Mechanoid

Constructed bodies moved by remnants of the dead, Mechanoids are vessels of memory and energy.   Each one is powered by a soulstone — a fragment of a person’s essence, bound at the moment of death — and fueled by rare crystalline energy. Though crafted, they are no mere machines. They feel, remember, and adapt, shaped as much by their past life as their new existence.

Physiology : Mechanoids are mechanical frames built around a core soulstone, usually embedded in the chest or head. Frames vary widely in form and function — some sleek and humanoid, others bulky or specialized. Their internal energy channels glow faintly with embedded crystals of Solarite, Naethrite, or Solnaeth.
Deameanor : Mechanoids tend to be introspective, deliberate, and observant. Some grow distant from emotion, while others cling fiercely to fragments of their former personality. Rebirth often brings strange habits, new obsessions and trauma.
Outlook : Their beliefs often stem from their previous life or the trauma of death itself — for better or worse.
History : The first Mechanoids emerged after the rediscovery of crystal-based technology in the wake of the Apocalypse, just two decades ago. When the isolated El-Nazir tribe returned to the world, they brought knowledge of Solarite, Naethrite, and Solnaeth — and with it, a new form of power. Shortly after, soulstones — rare gems drawn from the deep Underworld, found new utilities, and spreaded on the black market.   The creation of a Mechanoid requires all three: a soulstone, a crafted frame, and a steady flow of crystal energy. As their presence grows, society remains divided — some see them as miraculous survivors, others as unnatural tools built for labor, war, or worse.
Adventurers : Mechanoids often adventure to escape past guilt, or redefine their place in a world that sees them as tools. Others act with the intensity of someone who’s already died once — and refuses to waste their second chance.
Typical Name : Many choose to retain their original names, but others adopt titles or designations, often depending on who built their Mechanoid frame.

Size & Abilities

Size : Small, Medium or Large (your choice)   Innate abilities : You start with the following abilities.   Maturative abilities : Available for selection instead of an Advanced Class Ability.
  1. Pain Has No Hold
    Your nerves are gone, your fear dulled. What others dread, you assess logically.  

     
  2. Override Protocol
    When threatened, a hidden sequence initiates — one that bypasses fear, mercy, or doubt.  
    When you aquire this Ability, you must choose a behavior that will take over when you reach 0 Heart.
    • Once per day, when you loose all your Hearts, you enter the empowered state that last for 2 turns.
    • When you are in the empowered state, if you have 0 Technologie Charges remaining, you can choose to suffer Ailment (Fatigued), instead of using a charge.
    • You can try to stop the empowered state as a Free Action at the start of your turn with a Constitution Check.
    • When you sleep, you can redefine another behaviour.
      Empowered state behaviour :
    • Berserk mode: You must try to eliminate the threat.
      • +4 Attack bonus.
    • Rescue mode: You must try to save as many life as possible by getting away from the threat, at you own risk.
      • Your Speed is increased by one step and you can carry someone you size or less without any penalty (unless it is Ailment (Overburdened)).
    • Self preservation mode: You must try to save your own life without regards to the others, by the mean you judge is the most effective.

     
  3. Radiowave Communication
    You are able to connect to the mind of other Mechanoids by emitting quick, variable tones that are unintelligible to anyone-else.  
    • You can use a Free Action to read the mind of another Mechanoids in a 50 feet radius.
      If the other Mechanoid also have that Ability, instead of reading the mind, a connection is established for encrypted communication and both are aware of it.
