Specie: Kobold

Small, scrappy, and cunning, Kobolds are draconic-blooded beings who dwell deep within the winding tunnels and unstable ruins of the Underworld. Though often dismissed as weak or cowardly, they survive through wit, traps, and sheer tenacity. Kobolds are natural tunnelers and saboteurs — rarely engaging in fair fights when they can outsmart their foes instead.   They revere dragons with religious intensity, seeing themselves as their distant kin or chosen servants. Even in the absence of real dragons, Kobolds emulate them in behavior and culture, sometimes crafting false idols or ruling castes based on draconic traits. Despite their humble stature, their ambition is anything but small.

Specie overview

Physiology : Kobolds are small reptilian humanoids with long snouts, clawed hands, and scaled. Their scales range from earthy reds and browns to greens, greys, or even dull gold. Most stand under 4 feet tall and are lightly built, with sharp teeth and glowing eyes adapted to total darkness.
Deameanor : Nervous, twitchy, and quick-talking, most Kobolds are always scheming or worrying. They are pack-oriented and fiercely loyal to their own. Some are overly proud of minor accomplishments, while others are sly, calculating manipulators.
Outlook : Kobolds are reclusive and defensive, fiercely guarding their tunnels with traps and caution. They avoid Underworld politics, disliking other species like orcs and goblins. Their culture revolves around the worship of dragons, whom they idolize as divine ancestors. Though generally neutral, they react aggressively to threats against their lairs or beliefs.
History : Kobolds have long lived in the deepest corners of the Underworld, building sprawling tunnel colonies, fortress warrens, and crumbling shrine-complexes in the dark. Though they were once slaves to dragons, even after the dragons decline, they still cling to draconic lore and bloodlines. Their tunnels often crisscross with goblin routes, leading to frequent clashes or uneasy trades.
Adventurers : Kobold adventurers are rare and often outcasts, scavengers, or ambitious visionaries. Some seek knowledge, power, or vengeance. Others are exiles or dragon fanatics on a holy mission. Despite their size, they often make resourceful allies.
Typical Name : Many kobolds have very short and simple names, but there are individuals with longer names as well. These longer names often have harsher tones and a slight guttural feel to them, although the female names tend to be slightly softer.
