Rule: Combat values
When you participate in a fight you will frequently reference four key Combat Values: Speed, Attack Bonus, Hearts Total and Defense Rating.
Speed
Your Speed determines how quickly you react and move during a Fight and can also assists in dodging attacks. Calculating your Speed :- There are four Speed: Slow, Average, Fast, Very Fast
- You start with a base Speed of Average, comparable to the average human’s ability.
- Watch out for other factors that might modify your Speed, like Class, Species, Abilities, etc.
- Note that heavier Armor types limit your maximum achievable Speed.
Slow :
- +0 Defense Rating
- 0 feets movement
(must spend an action to move) - Initiative = 1d20
Fast :
- +2 Defense Rating
- 30 feets movement
- Initiative = 3d20
Average :
- +0 Defense Rating
- 15 feets movement
- Initiative = 2d20
Very fast :
- +4 Defense Rating
- 30 feets movement
- Initiative = 4d20

Defense rating and Initiative roll are automaticaly calculated inside the CSO character sheet (Caractersheetonline)! During a Fight, if you are unaware of an Attack OR are unable to take evasive action, the Defense Rating of the Speed dosn't apply.
Attack Bonus
Your Attack Bonus represents how good you are at hitting things and is a reflection of your training and killer instinct. Calculating your Attack Bonus :- Your base Attack Bonus is determined by your Class and Lvl, and is listed on your Class’s Advancement Table.
- Watch out for other factors that might modify your Attack Bonus.
- Attack Bonus applies whenever you perform an Action that requires an Attack roll.
Hearts Total
Your Hearts Total determines how much superficial Damage you can take before you receive a more serious, lasting Injury. Hearts represent a mix of your fighting spirit, luck, and pain threshold. Calculating your Hearts Total :- Your Hearts Total is determined by your Class and Lvl, which are both listed on your Class’s Advancement Table.
- Watch out for other factors that might modify your Hearts Total.
- Your Hearts are depleted during a Fight after taking Damage from an Attack.
Psy
Your Psy determine how much magic energy you can use before being unable to do magic. Calculating your Psy :- Your Psy is determined by your Class and Lvl, which are both listed on your Class’s Advancement Table.
- Watch out for other factors that might modify your Psy.
- When you want to cast a spell.
- You regain 1 Psy everytime you sleep.
- You also regain Psy during a Downtime (Meditate).
- Some Consumables can also help regaining Psy.
Defense Rating
Your Defense Rating represents your ability to deflect or avoid harmful targeted attacks. Calculating your Defense Rating :- Your base Defense Rating depends on your Species size and is modified by the Armor type you are using and, on occasions, your Speed.
- Watch out for other factors that might modify your Defense Rating, like Species, Class, etc.
- Defense Rating is referred to whenever you are targeted by an Attack or on occasions, Magic spell. An adversary’s Attack roll must match or exceed your Defense Rating to hit you.
- Failing or succeding an Attack with a large margin over the target Defense Rating can cause a Critical result.
- Species size:
Small = 11
Medium = 10
Large = 9 - Armor types:
Light: +2
Medium: +4
Heavy: +6
Superheavy: +8 - Shield types:
Shield (Standard): +1
Shield (Large): +2 - Speed:
Fast: +2
Very Fast: +4
