Mathematicians' Wonderful Works: Titanic Architecture

As part of our newspaper series examining the wonderful works of our mathematicians, we are today looking at titanic architecture.

What is Titanic Architecture

Titanic architecture buildings form gigantic magical devices. Their structure guide magic alongside specific pathways that define their properties the same way that a traditional device does. However, the enormous scale of the titanic buildings allow for the moving of a commensurate amount of magic.   The scale also means that there cannot be a single mistake or inefficiency in the calculations used in their design, as any leak of magic could have disastrous consequences. As such, titanic architecture is a true evidence of a mathematician's skills.   It is notable that our country has always been a pioneer in the domain. Our Royal Mathematicians have invented the very concept of titanic architecture and have built its more spectacular examples, making us a worldwide object of admiration and envy.   All foreign visitors to our country are shocked at our casual use of titanic architecture buildings for mundane applications such as farming, as well as at their sheer number in our country; you can indeed found them everywhere from our capital to the most backwater village!

Materials

Titanic architecture constructions are classically made of a mixture of stones and metals.   In the most fancy examples, each material used is carefully prepared so that it is made of sections of a pure compound, while the impurities initially present are moved to form a designed scheme. This create a magical device inside a magical device and further enhance the power of the titanic architecture!   As the masters of the titanic architecture technique, our country's mathematicians are uniquely also able to deal with a range of other material, notably even plants.

Most common applications

Protection   What: More powerful and long lasting wards of all kinds.   How: The very walls of titanic architecture projects are covered with an intricate web of designs that direct the flow of environmental magic though the stones, letting them reach epic proportions and rendering them near impossible to destroy through conventional means.

Agriculture   What: To increase harvest yield, to fight off parasites, to protect against the weather...   How: Fields and orchards are surrounded and crisscrossed by walls containing wards but also over kinds of magic that affect all plants inside their perimeters. In addition, intricate crop circles are traced every season in the fields to further increase the reach of such magic.

Water flow   What: Ensure the flow of water against it natural inclination.   How: Water is diverted through stone titanic architecture covered with magical designs that incite the water to flow alongside the magic currents, allowing it to move upwards and to slow or accelerate as needed to prevent floods and to ensure its smooth delivery in each household.

Famous examples

Titanic architecture.png

The city walls of the capital   The most ancient example of titanic architecture in the world, its protective wards have withstood centuries of enemies assault!

The border fortresses network   Our border with Aquatio is made of a titanic wall, with the node of the network comprised of a series of fortresses, the Royal Palace, and the Royal Mathematicians' headquarters.

Musical instruments   The concert hall in the capital is filled with titanic instruments made of stones that resonate with both sounds and magic to create a unique experience.

You will soon be able to admire a new titanic architecture project when the new water desalination and transport canalization begins its construction in Sange and Lernée! Be sure to not miss it!

The musical instruments are very intriguing

Thanks! I got inspiration from them from the stone instrument someone shared on discord last month!

I really love this idea, like, it's a very natural extension of the geometric and mathematical magic, but it's so cool! I think there's something really fantastical about really massive architecture too, like, thinking of the scale in a lot of fantasy art. Also the crop circles amused me.

Thanks <3 Yes, fantasy / sci-fi arts often have gigantic architecture, so it's fun to play with this!
