New Aquitirian in Lernée!

Many of our citizens will be highly distressed to learn that, after we successfully ran away the Aquatirian ambassador from Lernée last month, a new one has just been sent to take his place like a bad weed. And just like a weed, this man has promised us to be impossible to get rid of: “I wish to extend warm greetings to all my new hosts and assure you that I will not be a rude guest that leaves before the end of dinner!"   This ambassador, a M. Martinius Gregorius, will certainly need this sunny attitude if he hopes to accomplish any of his official missions: bring Aquatio and Milara closer so as to finally calm the bad feelings leftover from the last three wars to ensure that there won't be a fourth! Of course, our discerning citizens will have no troubles looking beyond this façade to see that the weed is in fact hiding a slippery viper, prepared to slither in our homes to listen to all of our secrets before readily repeating them back to its master.   All ambassadors that Aquatio has sent us since the end of the third war have been arrogant men, full of their own superiority, and endlessly frustrated, perplexed, and insulted that we did not agree with them on this point. All did a prodigious amount of backstabbing to get the job. Yet, unable to accomplish a single thing in Lernée beyond learning His Majesty's favourite colour, they could not satisfy their masters, and those who did not leave by themselves in a fit of rage were promptly recalled.   However, fellow citizens be warned that this M. Gregorius appears to be from a different reference frame. Far from being haughty, he welcomed our journalists with warm smiles and suspiciously foreign food, no doubt spiked with potions. Our refusal to partake did not move him. “We will all have the time to get to know each other and to learn to appreciate each other's culture!"   Hear this for the threat it is, Lernéens!
