Charter of the Institution of Royal Mathematicians
His Majesty Ancelin, King of Milara by the Grace of Magic, on advice of His Royal Council and by solemn privilege, hereby grants a Royal Charter that establish the Institution of Royal Mathematicians that shall be governed by the following principles.1. Purposes
- The main purpose of the Institution of Royal Mathematicians shall be the fulfilment of mission set by His Majesty the King of Milara on advice of His Royal Council and pertaining to the development of the Mathematics establishing the design of new magical devices.
- A secondary purpose of the Institution of Royal Mathematicians shall be to encourage the advancement of the field of Mathematics and its applications in the Kingdom of Milara through the publication of a monthly journal and the organisation of a yearly congress, both aiming to share the latest advances in the field.
2. Management
- The Institution of Royal Mathematicians shall be led by a Director who shall be appointed by His Majesty the King of Milara on advice of His Royal Council.
- The Director shall answer directly to His Majesty the King of Milara.
- The Director shall be responsible for ensuring that the Institution fulfil its purpose as defined in this Charter and that it upholds the good reputation of His Majesty and His Royal Council.
- The Director is responsible for investigating complaints against Royal Mathematicians and upholding as necessary disciplinary procedure against them.
- Founded reasons for complaints against Royal Mathematicians are incompetence and attitude tarnishing the reputation of the Institution and His Majesty the King of Milara.
- Disciplinary measures shall be chosen at the Director’s discretion and include: fines, a decreased salary, a penalty in the manner in which new projects are assigned to the individual, a retrogradation from the grade of Mathematician or Senior Mathematician, and an ejection from the Institution of Royal Mathematicians.
3. Members
- The Institution of Royal Mathematicians shall aim to include at all-time 150 mathematicians.
- The criteria set to make individuals eligible for membership to the Institution of Royal Mathematicians and to grant them the title of Royal Mathematicians are: a qualification to Masters level in the field of Mathematics and a professional experience in the field of a minimum of 10 years during which they will have demonstrated their skills by contributing to a project of national importance, as determined by the judgment of the Director. If there are more than one candidate for a position in the Institution, a competition between all eligible candidates will be organised to determine the individuals to be selected.
- Royal mathematicians shall be divided into three grades: Junior Mathematicians, Mathematicians, Senior Mathematicians.
- The title of Junior Mathematician shall be granted to all new members.
- Appointment to a new grade and the use of its title shall be granted by the Director of the Institution in the name of His Majesty the King of Milara.
- To progress to the title of Mathematician, an individual shall demonstrate at least 10 year of experience in the post of Junior Mathematician, during which they will have demonstrated their competence by making a substantial contribution to a project assigned to them by the Director of the Institution in the name of His Majesty and His Council and that shall be judged of major importance for the Kingdom of Milara by the Director. Additionally, the individual shall show an ongoing commitment to continuing professional development by demonstrating an awareness of all recent development in the field of mathematics.
- To progress to the title of Senior Mathematician, the individual shall demonstrate at least 10 year of experience in the post of Mathematician, during which they will have demonstrated their competence by making substantial contribution to a Titanic Architecture project. Additionally, the individual shall show an ongoing commitment to continuing professional development by demonstrating an awareness of all recent development in the field of mathematics.
4. Privileges
- Members of the Institution of Royal Mathematicians shall be granted the use of the title of Royal Mathematicians, of the motto “Intelligence and Reason”, and of a seal consisting of an hexafoil above an infinite symbol surrounded by said motto.
- Royal Mathematicians shall receive a monthly salary for the accomplishments of their duty for the Institution.
- In judicial affairs, only His Majesty the King of Milara and His Royal Council, and in their names the Director of the Institution of Royal Mathematicians shall have the authority to judge and condemn Royal Mathematicians.
5. Finance
- The Institution of Royal Mathematicians shall be financed directly by decision of His Majesty the King of Milara, and its annual budget is to be decided yearly by His Majesty on advice of His Royal Council.
- The finance of the Institution of Royal Mathematicians are to be used to pay for its mathematicians’ salaries, for the upkeep of its headquarters, for the entertainment of guests in said headquarters, and for the travel and upkeeps of mathematicians when on mission for the Institution.
- Additional exceptional budget may be granted for specific mission assigned to the Institution or to specific members of the Institution on special orders of His Majesty the King of Milara on advice of His Royal Council.

Amendement to the Charter of the Institution of Royal Mathematicians
His Majesty Vendelin de Liancourt, King of Milara by the Grace of Magic, by solemn privilege hereby declares that an amendment shall be made to the Charter governing the Institution of Royal Mathematicians, founded in 512 by a grant of His Majesty King Ancelin of Milara, in lieu its past achievements, and as follow.1. Management
The post of Director of the Institution of Royal Mathematicians shall be abolished and the Institution shall be placed under the direct and sole control of His Majesty the King of Milara.2. Finance
The Institution of Royal Mathematicians shall be financed and its budget established directly by His Majesty the King of Milara.3. Privileges
The following new privileges shall be granted to the Institution of Royal Mathematicians and its members:- The establishment of a bridge linking the Headquarters of the Institution to the Royal Palace to enable direct access to Royal Mathematicians to the Royal Palace to demonstrate how much His Majesty esteem and value them.
- Unlimited access to the Royal Court to all Senior Mathematicians.
- The authorisation for Royal Mathematicians to accept missions and payments from private citizens so long as it does not interfere with missions assigned to them by His Majesty.
