  • Gauthier Wernesson: Dueller in Valie's local Duelling Ring and Challenger to the King's throne (see Duelling challenges against the King). Named after André Wernesson de Liancour like the king.
  •     The Royal Council:
  • Edmond de Crancé: a councilman and the King's enemy. Named after Edmond-Louis-Alexis Dubois-Crancé, a man from the French revolution who revolutionised the structure of the French army.
  • Alexis de Fresnoy: A councilman and de Crancé's second. Named after the Dubois de Fresnoy, one of the families who are the heirs of the de Crancé family, and after one of the first name of Edmond-Louis-Alexis Dubois-Crancé.
  • Philippe de Brienne: A councilman known for his hesitations to make any decisions. Named after Louis Philippes, a French king known from his hesitations and circumspection, and Louis de Brienne de Conflans a French general responsible for the default of the bataille des Cardinaux in 1759 because of his hesitations, resulting in a big and important defeat.
  • Jean d'Églantine: A councilman known for his theatricality and corruption. Named after Fabre d'Églantine, a politician from the French revolution executed for corruption, and after Jean Baptiste Poquelin, Molière.
