Councilman de Fresnoy's attempt at closing the confectionary store on Royal Road has once again failed for reasons unknown. This event will only feeds the wild rumours about this shop. While this is still not officially recognised, it is pretty much admitted in all circles that it sells potion-infused sweets. Of course, no respectable citizens will ever been seen in such an establishment! And yet, to continue its business, and that in such a prestigious and expensive location, it must have its customers...

So what? Is it truly that our capital has so many on-respectable individuals? Or could it be that , away from all eyes, our average citizens are all too happy to shed their mantle of respectability to engage in such vile activities? But worse than having enough customers to keep afloat and bribe our magistrates, what if this hide a story even more scandalous? For how to conceive that all our magistrates have suddenly fallen prey to such corruptions? We will all remember the recent outrage following the discovery of cheating via potions in the Duelling Arena, and especially the identity of the culprits and their glorious connections. Such criminals must have a supplier, and all those involved in this affaire have every interest in protecting them...

The shop owner, Mme X, is certainly a social butterfly with a tongue as sweet as her confectionaries, able to wrap everyone around her fingers with her boundless energy and her cheerfulness,. And yet, this does not seem nearly enough to explain all failures from the authorities from cracking down on the shop. For where there is a will, the royal court is might...
