The Siege of Grimbeard’s Halls is a tale etched in the annals of dwarven history, a story of resilience, terror, and unyielding defiance in the face of unspeakable horrors. Grimbeard’s Hold, an ancient stronghold carved deep into the mountain peaks, had stood for millennia. Its grand halls, lined with stone statues of long-dead kings and ancestors, had witnessed countless battles and defended against innumerable threats. But nothing could have prepared the Grimbeard clan for the horror of the Moggites. The attack came without warning. A thick fog rolled in from the foothills, cloaking the mountain in darkness. The sentries atop the high walls of Grimbeard’s Halls saw nothing until it was too late. The Moggites moved silently, creeping out of the mist like shadows come to life. The first sign of their presence was the bone-chilling screech that echoed through the night, followed by the sound of steel on stone as they began their assault on the gates.
Thrain fell in battle, defending GrimBeards Hold from a marauding band of canibal moggites, Torgga took up Stormbreaker in his stead. Though she was not as physically powerful as her husband, she wielded it with fierce determination but she ultimaly met her end. In the depths of Grimbeard's Hall, the brothers made their final stand. Determined not to let their family name be tarnished by the Moggites, they fought with the ferocity of cornered beasts. They faced the chieftain and its kin with everything they had left, desperate to reclaim Stormbreaker and their home. But one by one, the brothers fell, their bodies littering the stone floors of their once-proud hall. Thulgrim saved them all by using his sorcerer powers to give them a chance to escape and they all left the ruins of there Family ancestral home. What was once a place full of love and laughter is now Moggites, emboldened by their victory, they claimed the fortress as their own, filling the halls with their monstrous laughter. Grimbeard’s Hall was lost, transformed from a sanctuary of dwarven culture into a dark lair of the Moggites. They adorned the walls with the bones of their slain foes and mocked the legacy of the Grimbeards. Stormbreaker, once a symbol of strength and honor, became a tool of terror, wielded by the Moggite chieftain as a trophy of conquest. The tale of the Siege of Grimbeard's Hall became a cautionary legend, a haunting reminder of what happens when darkness takes root in the heart of a stronghold. Though the Grimbeards had fallen, whispers of their bravery persisted, spreading through the mountain halls and beyond, ensuring that their legacy would not be easily forgotten. It was said that the hammer still echoed with the voices of the Grimbeard clan, waiting for a true heir to reclaim it and restore their honor. Atleast thats what the four Brothers say.
After the tragic fall of Grimbeard’s Hall to the Moggites, the four brothers—Torvin, Tyrion, Thulgrim, and Thor —knew they could not remain in the ruins of their ancestral home. Though they mourned the loss of their family and the legendary warhammer Stormbreaker, their spirits were not completely extinguished. Driven by a desire to reclaim their legacy and forge a new beginning, they decided to migrate south into the verdant lands of Albion.
Ten years had passed since the four Grimbeard brothers established Grimbeard's Hold in the fertile lands of Albion. The stronghold had transformed from a mere shelter into a thriving community, alive with the sounds of industry, laughter, and camaraderie. Stone homes dotted the landscape, and the clang of hammers echoed from the forges as the brothers and their kin crafted weapons, armor, and beautiful stonework, each piece a testament to their resilience and hard work. While Torvin, Thor and Thulgrim immersed themselves in their responsibilities, managing the hold and nurturing the relationships they had built with their neighbors, the brother, Tyrion felt a different kind of pull. Though he cherished the life they had built together and took pride in his contributions to the hold, he couldn’t shake the longing for adventure that stirred deep within him.

Nev-Tisk-Is lay only thirty miles from Albion’s southern shore—a narrow but treacherous channel known as the Bloodrun, where reefs, fog, and pirates awaited any fleet daring to pass. Aldric’s fleet set sail beneath stormlight, the Greywatch Flagship Fang’s Oath leading the line. Yet the enemy awaited them: The Scarlet Corsairs, sea-raiders sworn to Nev-Tisk-Is’s warlord, Darran the Drowned King.
At dawn, the fleets clashed amid crimson waves. The Fang’s Oath rammed the enemy flagship, its prow splitting the corsair hull in two. Lady Aravae Avalan stood upon the prow and cast storms from her palms, lightning raking the masts of the enemy ships. Aldric, sword in hand, led the boarding of the Drowned King’s vessel, slaying him with a strike to the throat. By midday, the sea belonged to Greywatch. World-breaking turn when Zlaniz’s Giant Demon Seducer escapes through a portal, dragging Tyrion Grimbeard into the God Hands Realms. In panic, Neth mirrors the demon’s method and rips open her own gateway—something she never meant to do. Kasien stood before it, his blade lowered at his side, his eyes fixed on something beyond the veil that only he could feel. He turned, meeting the faces of his companions—Reyn, Rheana, Neth, Lila, and Nórue—and his voice was steady, almost too calm: “I need to find my family.” And then, without waiting for an answer, he stepped into the abyss. Her small frame trembled as she stared at the portal, her eyes wide with both terror and resolve. “This is my fault. I opened it. I won’t let Kasien carry this alone.” “Neth, don’t!” Rheana barked, reaching for her—but the goblin cleric had already stepped forward, her face lit by the portal’s glow. “Tell Reyn… tell him I’m sorry.” And with that, she walked through the veil. The portal shrieked as if it felt her passing, and then—just as suddenly as it had been torn open—it sealed shut. The cavern fell silent, empty save for the dim echoes of what had been lost.

The Fall of Alpha Shield. It was here, at the shattered ruins beyond Whitestone’s eastern wall, that Alpha Shield, the Warforged Paladin of the Frozen North, gave his life to save Genethia “Neth” Roth, the Heart of the Unchained, from certain death. The event is remembered not only as the death of one of the last Paladins of the old era, but as a defining moment in Neth’s life — the instant where love, faith, and sacrifice converged under the shadow of war. The battle was fierce. Neth’s rapier, The Black Dragon of Asher, glowed with divine light as she struck from beneath Alpha’s guard. Together they fought as they always had — a seamless unity of steel and spirit. But as the melee reached its crescendo, Xandagor feigned collapse before rising with terrifying speed, swinging his colossal greataxe in a wide, death-dealing arc. The blow was aimed squarely for Neth, who was still recovering her stance amid the rubble. Without hesitation, Alpha Shield moved. Witnesses say his voice echoed with the power of his oaths — a mechanical roar turned prayer: “By steel and soul — she shall not fall.” The Paladin surged forward, his metal frame colliding with Neth’s small form, pushing her clear of the swing. The axe struck. It split through Alpha’s chest, cleaving his armored frame from shoulder to hip. The impact shook the ruins, and his lifeblood — liquid light from the Heartstone within his chest — spilled like molten gold across the snow. The Minotaur’s laughter died when he saw Neth rise behind the fallen Paladin, her one red eye ablaze with grief and divine fury. When the battle ended, silence claimed the ruins. Neth dropped to her knees beside Alpha’s broken body. His frame was split nearly in two, his core exposed — the Heartstone’s glow flickering weakly. She reached for his hand, the same steel hand that had once lifted her from despair, from battle, from the brink of faithlessness. For the first time since his creation, Alpha Shield spoke without command or code. His voice, faint and trembling, carried both warmth and finality: “You live… then my oath is done.” Neth could only whisper his name. As their eyes met, the pale blue light behind his gaze — once so constant, so unyielding — began to fade. He did not close them; Warforged do not die as mortals do. The light simply dimmed, fading into the soft reflection of her tear-streaked face. And then there was only stillness. The snow began to fall. The glow of the Heartstone guttered once, twice… then went dark. Neth buried Alpha Shield’s remains at the base of the ruined watchtower, where the golden sap of his Heartstone had frozen into the soil. The site became a quiet shrine for travellers and knights who passed through Whitestone — marked only by a single inscription carved by Neth’s own hand: “He was forged to protect, but chose to love instead.”
