Clan Bloodclaw — “The Red Claws of Resurrection”
Rat Pitt Sub-Clan of the Darkborn Network
Origins and Reputation
Clan Bloodclaw was a brutal splinter-faction of the Rat Pitt Skaven under the influence of Skrul Darkborn, master of Clan Darkborn and member of the Council of Thirteen. The Bloodclaws were created to serve as shock troops, fleshcrafters, and collectors—Skaven who wove violence and science together into horror. They were infamous for their crimson-marked claws (dyed with alchemical blood-oil) and their motto:
“Kill—cut—keep what’s useful.”
The clan’s symbol was a clawed paw wrapped around a broken heart, representing their devotion to survival through cruelty. They were tasked with exterminating renegade Skaven and retrieving failed experiments—chief among them the fugitive pair Chyric and Skitter Fellbite, who had defied their masters and Noverok slain Saberteeth Fellbite.
Noverok Bloodclaw — “The Executioner”
Race: Skaven
Role: Champion, Enforcer of the Council of Thirteen
Weapon: The Executioner, a massive black greatsword forged from cursed metal and blood steel, said to cleave ogres in half with a single swing.
Personality: Fearless, blood-drunk, yet fiercely loyal to his brother.
Titles: “Killer of Saberteeth,” “The Council’s Blade,” “The Rat That Died Twice.”
Noverok rose from the war-pits of Rat Pitt through sheer ferocity. He slaughtered his way to command and became the Bloodclaw Warlord. His signature weapon, The Executioner, was blessed by the Great Horned Rat himself—or so he claimed—feeding on blood to remain ever sharp.
He gained infamy for killing Saberteeth Fellbite, a Skaven hero who had protected Chyric and Skitter. The Council celebrated the kill, but Noverok’s pride made him reckless. In 620 PR, during the Council of Thirteen Manor Gathering, he was ambushed by the same two orphans he had orphaned. Chyric and Skitter struck together—Chyric with his sword, Skitter with her rapier—and Noverok was finally slain. His death sent shockwaves through Rat Pitt.
Thikkit Bloodclaw — “The Flesh-Sower”
Race: Skaven
Role: Arch-Warlock, Flesh-Magus, Council Scientist
Personality: Cruel, calculating, genius—believes life is clay and pain its sculptor.
Allegiance: Clan Darkborn (under Skrul).
Creations:
Skaven Abominations — reanimated horrors stitched from corpses.
Skaven Dragon — a warped, undead drake infused with Skaven souls.
Skaven Hydra — multi-headed monstrosity of warp-flesh.
Skaven Ogres — hulking brutes of mutated muscle, enslaved by mind-runes.
Thikkit was the younger brother of Noverok and the intellect behind Clan Bloodclaw’s terrifying experiments. Where his brother ruled through strength, Thikkit ruled through invention and fear. His laboratories beneath Rat Pitt were legendary—a maze of steel, bone, and twitching vats. After Noverok’s death, he entered a frenzy of obsession. Using necromancy and hybridized bio-alchemy, he brought Noverok back to life, his body reforged with plated ribs, and alchemically-preserved organs.
Resurrection of Noverok
Skrul Darkborn himself sanctioned the resurrection, desiring his enforcer returned for vengeance. The ritual, known as “The Red Rebirth,” bound Noverok’s spirit into his old body—his soul shackled by runic servitude. When he rose again, the first thing he said was:
“Still I live—still I kill. The Executioner thirsts.”
Now a warped revenant, Noverok obeyed Thikkit’s commands and Skrul’s orders: to hunt down Chyric and Skitter Fellbite, whose survival insulted the Council.
The Cinders’ Assault on Thikkit’s Laboratory
Before he could begin his mission, Thikkit’s underground fortress—known as the Blight-Nest Sanctum—was discovered by The Cinders, led by Reyn and Genethia Roth (Neth). Inside they found his twisted creations:
The Skaven Hydra guarding the lower levels.
The Skaven Dragon, chained and partially alive, breathing green flame.
Three Skaven Ogres armed with bladed gauntlets.
The battle was catastrophic. Though The Cinders destroyed all three monsters, the fight left them badly wounded. Thikkit, cornered and enraged, unleashed warp-fire, he vanished using a teleporting spell, escaping through the tunnels beneath Abritus Empire.
The Cinders fire balled his research chambers.
As the smoke cleared, the Cinders realized the deeper threat:
Thikkit still lived, and now he was free to begin his hunt for Chyric and Skitter anew—backed by the resurrected Noverok.
Legacy and Threat
The Bloodclaws, once broken, are rumoured to have returned as a ghost clan—their dead rising from the tunnels, their experiments roaming the Underdark. Whispers among Skaven slaves say the brothers’ vengeance is guided by something even darker than Skrul—a shadowed god-hand favouring their cruelty.
Their rallying cry echoes through the ruins of Rat Pitt still:
“Blood for the Claw—death for the living!”
And somewhere in the black tunnels beneath Platera, Noverok’s voice answers:
“Chyric… Skitter… your father’s death was only the first cut.”
