Shield of the North

In the ancient ages before the rise of the Tibur Empire, Agadra Gora was chosen as a Valkyrie of the Skysong Temple, one of the sacred defenders of Fenris, the storm-swept land of ice, honour, and oaths.

She was a protector of the Fenris line, the spiritual bodyguard to the early chieftains of the Frozen North. Her wings bore frostlight. Her voice calmed armies. And her sword, Winter’s Lament, only sang when there was cause to mourn the righteous.

Her life was spent defending sacred peaks, guiding souls of fallen heroes, and striking down those who sought to violate the natural order.

But even divine oaths can be broken.

Protector of the North (Before 120 PR)

Agadra Gora was once the sacred shield of the Frozen North, a revered Valkyrie of the Skysong Temple—a divine warrior tasked with guiding fallen warriors and upholding ancient Fenrisian oaths. She fought alongside kings, defended Lodvar bloodlines, and sang mourning songs for heroes lost in snow-covered battles.

She was legend made flesh—feared by demons, loved by the people, and said to have never broken a single oath.

The God Hand Pact (120 PR)

But in 120 PR, during the rise of pre-Zelistran horrors and divine silence, something changed.

In the blizzards of a failed crusade into the Dead Valleys, Agadra heard the whisper of a God Hand—a celestial entity that claimed the old gods had abandoned the mortal world.

“You die for oaths that rot. Bind yourself to a power that does not forget.”

Faced with growing spiritual rot, divine inaction, and the deaths of thousands, Agadra made a pact. She pledged herself to the God Hands—not as a slave, but as their champion. Her divine spark turned blackened, her wings scorched, her sword reforged in cursed purpose.

She now wielded the Voice of the Eclipse, and her warcry could shatter sacred oaths and unravel divine protections.

Betrayal and Sealing (375 PR)

Agadra’s growing power terrified the High Priests of Fenris and the Lodvar rulers. Her increasing involvement with God Hand cultists, disappearances of clergy, and massive corruption of burial sites forced the North to act.

In a joint effort by the Order of the Skysong and Lodvar templars, Agadra was ambushed during a blood moon rite. After a devastating battle that claimed entire villages, she was sealed in the Cave of Sorrowing Winds with runes of binding and divine flame.

She remained entombed for 245 years, whispered of only in fearful myth.

Freed by Freydis Lodvar (620 PR)

In 620 PR, Caleb Asher led a northern expedition into ancient ruins with a small band of friends, including Freydis Lodvar, sister to Ulfred Lodvar.

Unaware of what they were truly unsealing, Freydis broke the runes of binding, believing Agadra to be a misunderstood guardian of her people.

The cave exploded in frost and screaming wind. Agadra rose, reborn.

Her eyes recognized Freydis—but there was no gratitude. Only prophecy.

“You are the blood of those who chained me. For that, I forgive you… for now.”

The Curse of Soul Slayer

As a token of her "mercy," Agadra gifted a weapon to one among the party—Jairan Heart.

The blade was called Soul Slayer:

A massive cursed greatsword forged from the steel of fallen gods and the marrow of oathbreakers.

It grows stronger when striking allies or former comrades.

It feeds on memories, slowly erasing its wielder’s past with each killing blow.

The blade whispers in Jairan’s dreams—not in Agadra’s voice, but in the voice of the God Hands.

The Slaughter at Fenris

As her first act of freedom, Agadra took to the skies and flew to Fenris Keep, the stronghold of the Frozen North.

Emperor Erik Fenris, descendant of the bloodline that once commanded her, held court during a seasonal tribute.

She descended like a nightmare from legend, cleaving through guardians and ice golems.

She confronted Erik personally, placed her hand on his crown—and crushed both it and his skull in one motion.

She declared Fenris “uncrowned by blood and flame,” and razed the inner sanctum, leaving the throne hall a smoldering ruin.

The March South – The Coming Eclipse

Agadra then flew south to the God Hand Plains, reuniting with the cultists and black-armored soldiers of the dark celestials.

There, she became commander of the Eclipse Vanguard, a legion preparing for the prophesied Blood Moon Eclipse—a time when the veil between gods and mortals weakens and the God Hands seek to ascend fully into the material plane.

Her goals are clear:

Cleanse the faiths of the old gods from the northern shrines.

Rebuild the shattered God Hand altars with relics of blood.

Lead the vanguard when the sky breaks.

Powers of the Valkyrie Ascendant

Covenant Wings – Flight imbued with frost-black divinity; when she takes off, the skies weep flame.

Oathkiller’s Cry – Her shout shatters holy symbols and can silence divine casters.

Soul Slayer (Echoed Curse) – She can summon the spectral echo of Soul Slayer, striking down enemies through others’ weapons.

Eclipse Blessing – She is immune to radiant damage and absorbs it as healing during blood moons.

Relationship to Ulfred and Freydis

Freydis Lodvar is seen as the “Unsealer” in God Hand cult prophecy—a fated traitor who releases ruin.

Ulfred Lodvar is viewed by Agadra as a remnant of a dead faith, but she offers him a place in her vanguard if he denounces Fenris’ gods.

She seeks to claim Fenris’ ruins as her new throne, and slay Ulfred herself if he resists.

Quote from Agadra Gora, post-slaughter of Fenris:

“I was chained by cowards. Freed by the naive. Empowered by the inevitable.

The Blood Moon rises. I will not kneel—I will crown the void with ruin.”
