Elysium
Elysium, also known as the Blessed Fields, is a plane of serene beauty, pure benevolence, and spiritual renewal. It exists in a state of perfect harmony and peace, untouched by the conflicts and extremes that characterize many other planes. Here, goodness is not militant or demanding, but gentle, pervasive, and effortlessly compelling—a quiet invitation to rest, heal, and live in balance with the world.
Elysium is not a place of rigid order or blind obedience; it is a plane where goodness simply is—present in the land, the air, and the hearts of those who dwell within it. It is a plane of rest without stagnation, joy without indulgence, and peace without passivity. Travelers leave changed, often without realizing how or why, carrying with them a piece of Elysium’s light in their hearts.
To walk the fields of Elysium is to remember what it means to be whole, to be safe, and to be free.
Localized Phenomena
Elysium radiates an aura of healing and calm. Magic cast here that promotes peace, restoration, or purification is often enhanced. Conversely, spells of harm, domination, or corruption are diminished or subtly discouraged. Even those of evil alignment may find their darker impulses lessened, and many have been known to abandon lives of cruelty after extended time in the Blessed Fields.
The River Oceanus, which originates in Elysium, is a powerful conduit of divine energy. Drinking from its waters can lift curses, calm madness, or even free the soul from enchantments—though only if the spirit is willing to accept peace.
Climate
Elysium is composed of four idyllic layers, each one more tranquil and luminous than the last. Rolling fields of wildflowers stretch for miles under radiant skies, where the sun shines with warm light that soothes rather than blinds. Rivers of sweet, clear water—including the sacred River Oceanus—wind through meadows, orchards, and groves of impossibly tall, fruit-laden trees. The air carries the scent of blossoms and clean rain, and the only sounds are birdsong, rustling leaves, and the distant hum of contented life.
The natural laws here reflect the innate harmony of the plane: predators do not hunt with malice, storms break only to water the land, and day and night shift gently in an eternal rhythm. Even time itself feels slower, as if urging visitors to reflect, breathe, and be.
Fauna & Flora
Elysium is home to a wide variety of celestial beings, especially guardinals—noble animal-headed outsiders who act as protectors of the plane’s peace and its many sanctuaries. These beings guide lost souls, defend the innocent, and offer wisdom to those who seek it, but they do so with a calm and nonjudgmental presence.
Many good-aligned mortal souls come to rest in Elysium after death, manifesting tranquil afterlives filled with joy and simplicity. Travelers from other planes—especially those injured, cursed, or burdened—often find refuge here. The land itself seems to recognize suffering and responds with healing: wounds close faster, nightmares subside, and even deep-seated grief begins to ease.
Temples, shrines, and humble sanctuaries are scattered throughout the layers, often dedicated to deities of mercy, healing, and peace. These are not grand monuments but open, welcoming places where no one is turned away.
