The Endless Maze
Layer 600 of the Abyss, known as the Endless Maze, is the labyrinthine domain of Baphomet, the Demon Prince of Beasts, Behemoths, and Savagery. As its name implies, this layer is an unfathomably vast and ever-shifting dungeon, a nightmarish tangle of twisting corridors, colossal chambers, spiraling stairwells, and subterranean chasms that stretch beyond comprehension in all directions.
The Endless Maze is not merely a physical structure—it is a living, malevolent entity, imbued with chaotic sentience and a deep hatred of order. Its passages rearrange themselves without warning. Corridors double back into themselves, staircases descend into forgotten madness, and doors open to crushing traps, bottomless pits, or inexplicable spaces. Walls whisper with guttural laughter or distant screams, and strange glyphs crawl across surfaces when unobserved.
The Endless Maze is not simply a prison or test—it is a theological expression of Baphomet’s creed: strength through the hunt, enlightenment through bloodshed, and transcendence through savagery. Those who wander its halls either become predators or perish as prey. Madness comes swiftly to intruders, as the Maze warps time, perception, and memory.
In sum, the Endless Maze is the ultimate expression of bestial chaos, a domain that hunts the hunter, reshapes the weak, and exalts only the primal. It is the crucible in which Baphomet’s strength was forged, and where his followers seek transformation by losing themselves in rage, blood, and labyrinthine madness.
Geography
The architecture of the Endless Maze varies wildly—some regions are rough-hewn tunnels carved through basalt, others are enormous catacombs with vaulted ceilings and ancient carvings of bestial hunts and blood rites. Still others are impossibly wide halls filled with piles of bones, rusted weapons, and fetid air, lit only by flickering braziers that burn without fuel.
Natural light does not exist here; illumination comes from eerie glows, fungus-like growths, or the hellish red eyes of unseen predators. The oppressive atmosphere is laced with the scent of blood, sweat, and beast musk. The very walls seem to pulse with anticipation, as if the Maze itself enjoys the suffering of those trapped within.
At the unknowable center of this chaotic realm lies Baphomet’s palace, known as the Heart Labyrinth—an immense structure of black stone, adorned with horned statues, brazen altars, and blood-soaked arenas. Here, Baphomet resides in a throne chamber flanked by enormous bestial guardians and the trophies of eons of hunts—skulls of celestials, mortal champions, and rival demons alike.
The Heart Labyrinth is also where Baphomet conducts foul rites and experiments, creating new horrors from the raw stuff of the Abyss or corrupting mortals into savage forms through blood and madness. The palace is the still eye of the Maze—yet even it is riddled with traps, illusions, and shifting rooms.
Fauna & Flora
The Endless Maze is populated by beast-demons, minotaurs, fiendish hybrids, and feral monstrosities created or summoned by Baphomet. Packs of howling hunters roam the halls, guided by instinct and bloodlust. These denizens revere the Maze, viewing it as both temple and hunting ground, and they pursue trespassers with religious zeal.
Those who die here often do so in ritualistic hunts, caught in cycles of stalking and slaughter. Even powerful demons hesitate to enter this layer without preparation, as the Maze obeys only Baphomet—and none can claim mastery of it but him.
