O'nlonan Frostwastes
Blessed are those among the Aman who can persist in the farthest reaches of their domain. Blessed are those who sup on the salted fish of their creations and the who can find warmth between woeful gales of wind. Blessed are we, the Sendorei who have followed in the commands of Aman'Origan -Namorei, Village Elder of O'blanore
Named after the Sendorei word for "Vastness" the O'nlonan Frostwastes is a near infinite expanse of stretching plains, ice lakes and desolate mountain ranges. Despite it's status as the largest of the many regions among the Mainlands, the Frostwastes boasts the smallest population of all regions as a result of the hostile environs. The only major settlements are those of the Northern Tribes which can be found along the coast.
Geography
Sendoran Coast
The closest places among the Frostwastes that can be said to show the slightest mercies is the Sendoran Coast accessed through the difficult mountain passes that separate the Frostwastes from the Great Dorei to it's south, the Sendoran Coast sees brutal, unyielding winters and drastically short summer thaws in which the snow recedes and the ice give way to water.
The many fishing communities that have banded together to form the Northern Tribes support each other as best they can as the little produced by any one community is oft needed to be shared among the others.
The Many Spears of Kemmet
Named after the Orcish myth of Kemmet, The Snowbound, the Many Spears of Kemmet is a stretching expanse of small islands stretching out for hundreds of miles along the near black ice-waters of the Eastern Expanse. The spears in which the region gets it's name from are a naturally forming phenomenon of rocky ice outcroppings that jut out in tall, narrow points all across the many islands.
Western Mountains
Far to the west, the mountain range that form the border between the Frostwastes and the Great Dorei grow sparser into pockets of mountains that form snowdrift covered ravines and treacherous passes of mountainways. Living amidst these mountains are many tribes of Frost Giant who have adapted to the climate over the ages.
The Frostwastes
North of the mountains, north of the tribes lies the Frostwastes from which the region is named. The frostwastes are a near unbroken vastness of snow covered plains that blanket the landscape beyond sight. In the daytime the sun reflects off the snows of the land, and shines blindingly in all directions.
Fauna & Flora
Not but the hardiest of vegetation can survive in the Frostwastes, but in small rents in the snow, where patches of earth can briefly see the sun. It is moss and lichen that are commonplace among upturned stones and uncovered mountain faces, but it is the vibrant lime green Kemmetsteps that are most celebrated among the Sendorei. Edible and abundunant among the coastlines, Kemmetsteps are a staple in the Sendorei diet and an important balance to the heavy fish otherwise eaten.
