Ferran

The Island of Ferran is a island, divided into three distinct subregions, the Ferran Highlands to the north, Lower Ferran to it's south, and the Ferran Desert in it's center.

Geography

Ferran Basin

The temperate Ferran Basin is the southerly most region of the island. Prone to frequent flooding, this has made the soils incredibly fertile, with the Seinar River being notable for this. This has resulted in the farmlands being excellent for Wines. Vintners from as far away as the The Kingdom of Damnos have sought to buy plots of land along the banks of the river.

Along the northern edge of the Basin, the elevation raises to the mountain passes controlled by Sunder Gate. Here, from the Grenrun River, the soil is still valuable, but less suited to grape wines and instead potatoes and other earthier sorts will be found. It is the duty of each farmer here to set aside some share of their crop to help feed the men of Sunder's Gate by order of the Lord of Grenet.

The Desert of Ferran

"It can get hotter than all hell, the sun bears down like a hammer and you'll rarely come across a site that isn't more sand, but the people? The people are the worst part of it all" -Watch Commander Maxim of Sunder's Gate
The Desert of Ferran is a deeply inhospitable place, inhabited by warring tribal clans.
The Beast of Shah'ha'dan

Nested in a depression along the southwestern desert, the Beast of Shah'ha'dan, a tremendous sand drake, stalks across the coastal desert in search for food.
So fearsome is the Beast, that even the The Hunters Guilds has refused the bounties placed upon it. For every enterprising free hunter or sea captain who had wished to fell the beast, all but bone and shipwreck remains of them

Ferran Highlands

The Ferran Highlands is a region of raised hills high above the waters of the Vesser. The Ferran Highlands rest just below the mountains shielding the highlands from the desert heat.

Among the hills south of the River's Road are clans of Ferrani Hill Tribesmen who live among the forests surrounding nearby Vesser's Bend and Pranor's Strand.
