Remi Drake

Remi is rather unpretentious and simple minded when it comes to her Changeling abilities. She has only two forms that both look quite similar to each other and most of the time, she is in her female form. Her personality and name is the same with either. Her pronoun preference depends on the form (She/her in her female form, He/him in his male form), but doesn't really care what pronouns other people use.

This is in contrast to other changelings who can have upwards of a dozen forms, each with wildly different appearances, names, personalities, and gender identities. Remi claims laziness with managing that many different forms and prefers to keep things simple.

The reality is that Remi just has a more solid sense of identity than many Changelings. Remi knows exactly who she is and what she wants to be. She can still shapeshift and copy the appearance of whoever she wants and has the creativity to invent entirely new forms, but she sees it all as bothersome and pointless.

Remi grew up in the small town of White Bay, South Carolina. While most Changelings unlock their abilities between the ages of six and eight, it didn't happen for Remi until much later. He randomly one morning turned into a female version of himself when he was eleven and wasn't able to change back.

Her parents made her go to school anyways, while everyone knew she was a changeling, they still picked on her, insulted her, called her various names, and broke her down. It was a hated Elf of all people that defended her. His name is Alvin, and ever since then, the two have been best friends. Remi eventually figured out how to change back after the semester was over.

Growing up, Remi's father was never around. Bill was far too concentrated on his Job at the DDDF protecting humanity to be home more than a few times a year. Remi's mother, Charlotte, was also a member of the DDDF, at least until her Changeling abilities burned out and she decided to have kids.

Remi decided in High School that she wanted to do what her parents did. A few years later, she joined the foundation's apprenticeship program when she was 16, in between the 10th and 11th grades. A few days after she turned 17, she got her certification, and became a junior agent of the Foundation, rank 'F'. Currently all she's allowed to do is exorcise spirits and destroy poltergeists.

That same day, there was a viral outbreak of the P. Andorus virus in White Bay, South Carolina. It mainly affects Class E Humanoids, in other words, Lower Demons, in other other words, Imps and Changelings. Unable to return home, Remi's Aunt Arianne enrolled her into the Manalith Academy. She chose to enroll as a female but did have the option to go the other way.

Her Aunt gave her a Pendant that will disguise her magical aura, making her appear human to anyone who knows Auramancy. Everyone knew she was a Changeling in Middle School and the first two years of High School. The next two years are hopefully going to be a little different. The pendant also disables her ability to shapeshift on school grounds but thanks to her strong sense of self, she is fine being stuck in one form for an extended period of time.

Remi got into paintball at an early age and loved going out in the woods and shooting with friends. When Remi turned into a girl when she was 11, most of her friends all turned on her. They started singling her out and during free for all matches, she was always shot up first. She stopped playing after that and hasn't really been willing to get back into it.

During the summer that Remi was training at the DDDF, she needed to pick a preferred weapon. There were swords, spear, guns, and more. She went with a paintball gun because that's what she was comfortable with. It turned out to be a good choice for her style of fighting.

When Remi turned into a girl when she she was pulled from the middle school baseball team. She refused to play softball and spent most of the next month doing nothing at home until her mother signed her up for ballet classes. It ended up being a great way to escape reality for a few hours each day. Remi also turned out to be quite good at it. She joined the dance team in High School and performed at numerous recitals and danced in several parades and ball games.
