Chapter 2 - The Scrapyard

Plot points/Scenes

Journey to the Scrapyard

The party makes their way to the The Scrapped Scrublands while fleeing the eclipse that appeared in the sky after their battle with the The Babysitter's Club. They end up hiding out in a Rust Roach den before heading out into the warm, dry shrubland in the morning.

The Mirage

The party encounters one of the The Outlands nomad tribes: The Mirage along with their pseudo-leader Mardwocket Roywick. When Mardwocket steals Ryshard and Fio's names, Dwell rescues the names and turns this traveling circus into friends after a clever competition before bidding the group farewell.

Scrapyard Arrival

The party arrives at the The Scrapyard and are about to be denied entry when the Yard's leaders arrive back in a state of panic. The group has just returned from Neo City where they rescued a large cyborg creature, an unlucky Nexus resident, and a runaway heiress. This, at least, gets the party inside and gets them integrated with the locals while they search for Mineralis.

A Roach Problem

Tabor Hazard's back luck causes Rust Roaches to dig up into the The Scrap Heap causing problems for the locals. The party handles the situation, earning the favor of the citizens and granting them the opportunity to track down Mineralis' whereabouts.

Mineralis' Prison

The party makes their way beneath the Scrap Heap and discovers the crystal prison of Mineralis. After sending their spirits inside, they are faced with a cramped and crowded warehouse of storage units, a locked door, and Mineralis presenting in their mortal form. The group discovers all manner of valuable objects which they then discover they must convince Mineralis to part with in order to make an exit.

Life Support

With Mineralis free, the crew return to their bodies only to discover that the Scrapyard was unknowingly using him as a battery powering the Yard's magical material acquisition. Now drained of that power, Mineralis is dying. The party rushes to keep them alive and manages to get them into the Bastion. On their return, they learn that Cassandra Semple and Red Sand Angel have been keeping secrets of their own.

Finale

The party handles final business in the Scrapyard before making moves to head North to Aetheria Machinara. They help Tabor and Marian Swann get safely on their way to Nexus, improve the Yard's defenses against Neo City's trackers, upgrade their gear, and recruit a new companion on their journey.

Structure

Exposition

This picks up after Chapter 1, with the Party on the run from the Eclipse while headed for the Scrapyard. Things are more dangerous, and perhaps more complicated than the party originally imagined them to be.

Relations

Protagonists

Byeol Eun

Byeol's mysterious nature is lended to by their seemingly expansive knowledge of the world. It's apparent they've had a chance to get out and explore in a way that the others have not, but fortunately this is to the party's benefit.

Dwell Defiant

Still charming, still chaotic, but also rather insightful. Dwell manages to make friends rather readily, perhaps because they're so up-front and casual. Their ability to make real connections with others and challenge the way people think serves the party well.

Fio of Dayspring

Devilishly charming and always fascinated by the unknown, Fio's knack for finding trouble without quite falling into it keeps the party on their toes and attracts some interesting allies.

Ryshard Sparklestone

Ryshard's friendly nature endears him to just about everyone, allowing the party to readily make friends and allies. His clever use of non-violent magic also does a stellar job at keeping the party out of danger.

Allies

Quest Companions

Adora Cano

Smart and by-the-book, Adora is pretty good at helping the group put their puzzle pieces together. Her deft and flexible spellwork have proved crucial in combat situations.

Mineralis

Goddex of Value and formerly trapped within a crystalline prison. They take on the form of a Dwarf and call themselves Miles. It's going to be difficult to keep the Bastion from becoming cluttered.

ST3-4M

Cyborg experiment rescued from NeoCity's V.E.N.U.S Tactical by Marian. The party helped nurse ST3-4M back to health and he's happy to return the favor.

Additional Allies

Tabor Hazard

A struggling swordsman with cursed with FAFO and bad luck. Despite causing trouble, his heart seems to be in the right place. He and the party seem quite willing to help each other out.

Marian Swann

Delightful daughter of Neo City's own Helen Swann, Marian has faked her own kidnapping and run away from home while liberating one of her mother's experiments in the process. A charming socialite, a skilled embroiderer, and apparently a Fan of Fio's books.

Sandy and Sandy

A pair of 'sisters' who call the The Scrapyard their home. Each has their own secrets and hidden powers, making them powerful allies.

Fei-Lin Mnemon and Hawke's Flight

Sandy and Sandy's dear friends and trusted confidants. Fei-Lin is an emerald dragon obsessed with hoarding the denizens of her territory while Hawke is an elf obsessed with keeping her home safe from anyone who would seek it harm.

Neutrals/Bystanders

The Garages

A somewhat misfit group of mechanics and musicians.

The Mirage

One of the few Nomadic groups that wander the outlands. Led by Mardwocket Roywick, a fae touched gnome with a love of collecting names. This group seems to operate by their own set of rules, determining allies and enemies in a way no one really understands.
