Cassandra Semple
Cassandra Semple (a.k.a. Sandy)
One of the "Sandies" from The Scrapped Scrublands; this one seems a little disconnected from reality.
A strange and eccentric sort with a mysterious connection to the world around her.
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Like her sister, Sandy appears to be afflicted with Albinism resulting in pale skin and hair as well as a pinkish-purple eye color.
Special abilities
Object Speak
Sandy has the capability, on touching an object, to mentally "speak" with the object. Generally, this grants her the ability to diagnose problems (a broken spring in a malfunctioning rifle) but it can also grant her insight into the object's history and capabilities. She also claims she can determine if an object "likes" its current owner or not and will frequently make judgements on others based on contact with their things.
Unfortunately, Sandy has no control over this ability and she can become overwhelmed by the influx of information causing her to go into a state of violent dissociative panic.
Elsewhere Sense
Perhaps due to her connection to objects, Sandy is capable of locating pockets leading into the The Elsewhere without too much difficulty. She appears to keep this a secret from others,
Apparel & Accessories
Sandy protects her body from the sun by wearing a long, dark-stained, patchleather trenchcoat over otherwise comfortable and easy to move in clothes. She appears to prefer dark colors and soft fabrics; much of her clothing appears obviously repaired many times over.
Due to shortsightedness and in order to protect her sensitive eyes, Sandy wears a pair of perscription sunglasses.

Personal history
Before the Collapse
Not much is known of Sandy's life prior to the Collapse. Red Sand Angel claims that the Scrapyard is most similar to wherever Sandy came from, implying there is little difference between where she is now and where she was then.
The Scrapyard
Considered one of the founders of the Yard along with her Sister, Sandy resides there as one of the settlement's unofficial leaders. She spends her time in the settlement assisting people with the care and maintenance of their belongings and experimenting in the Greenhouse.
Chapter 2
The party discovered that Sandy and Sandy are not sisters, but duplicates of one another.
Employment
Sandy has an affinity for objects that allows her to diagnose problems much like a doctor would a patient; this has led her to working closely with most of the Yard's residents to build and repair their various things. It also helps that she enjoys reading operation and repair manuals.
Sandy also operates the Yard's Greenhouse, growing plants that are otherwise not available or are potentially dangerous to acquire otherwise. She keeps a lab in the back of the Greenhouse for studying things like plants and soil conditions.
Sandy also frequently heads out on Outlands Expeditions with her sister and the rest of the expedition crew to procure resources that are otherwise difficult to get a hold of in the Scrapyard. During these missions, she offers her services as a tinker to folks across the Outlands or trades goods from place to place.
Morality & Philosophy
Give and Take
Sandy believes that the world works better when we engage in equivalent exchange. For everything we take from the land, we must give something of equal value in return. For every thing we take from one another, we must agree on something to be given. On a grand scale, the world operates in this way (though on a scale we cannot comprehend and with rules we do not understand) and so must we to remain in harmony with it.
Object Kindness
How we treat our things reflects how we treat ourselves and each other. Sandy believes that we must treat the objects in our care with the same compassion and care as we treat our flesh and blood families and friends.
Social
Mannerisms
Sandy speaks in a strange sort of tone that causes others to question whether or not she is fully mentally present. She tends not to look at people, but rather appears to look through them.
