Chapter Two - Session 7 Report

General Summary

New friends, new mysteries, and new opportunities shine on the horizon. Safe in the Scrapyard, the Party realizes once more that the world is wild and alive, full of people experiencing their own adventures.

Using their charm and skills, the Party proves themselves quick allies of this bustling community.

Meanwhile, Byeol seems to have been here before but no one seems to have any memory of her; though they appear to remember Adora just fine.

Rewards Granted

Confetti Cannon

More of a mine, this single-use explosive causes some minor force damage accompanied by a cloud of confetti when stepped on.

Scrapyard Favor

The Party's willingness to step in and help out whether with ST3-4M or with Sandy's meltdown has earned them favor among the Yard's residents. This will allow them to rest in the Yard for a short time without worrying about giving anything in return.

Byeol's Car

The beat-up little Junker-car needs some work before it's completely safe to drive, and will have a hard time squeezing the whole party into it, but it's better than walking through the outlands on foot.

Missions/Quests Completed

Daybreak - Part 1

On arrival at the scrapyard, the party has a dramatic encounter involving a Man of Misfortune, a Corpo Runaway, and an organic/mechanical experiment. Something about the ordeal had set Sandy into a mental breakdown and everyone involved appeared worse for the wear.

Utilizing their compassion, the Party helped calm Sandy and escort the experiment (ST3-4M) to safety, where Ryshard and Byeol ensured the computer parts of him were being taken care of.

Marian, the Runaway, revealed some information on ST3-4M's origins but there is clearly still much to uncover.

Character(s) interacted with

Hawke's Flight

Head of the Scrapguard and main gate operator, this dark skinned Elf seems like she runs a tight ship. She clearly has a deep loyalty to the Yard and the Sandies.

Sandy and Sandy

A pair of identical albino twins who appear to have a lot of sway in the operation of the Yard. 'Cassandra' appears to be more grounded, but with less patience for large groups of people. 'Sandy' appears to have a strange ability to read the emotions and information of physical objects and is sensitive to psychic disturbances.

Marian Swann

Short, confident, and very attractive; Marian is the daughter of Corporate CEO Helen Swann and presumed heir to V.E.N.U.S. Tactical. Despite this, she paid a significant amount of money to a group of Runners to help her fake her own kidnapping. She's quite sweet and charming.

Tabor Hazard

A strange man with a pair of white tattoos on his face under a mop of black hair seen wearing a peacoat and scarf despite the warm temperatures. He is apparently afflicted with an inordinate amount of bad luck and wound up involved in Marian's runaway scheme by accident after delivering a cake to Neo City as an odd job.

He seems to have a habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Doctor Burns

A gruff elvish Doctor suffering from some sort of Necrotic Disease, causing her skin to wrinkle and rot away on her body.

ST3-4M

Some sort of Organic/Machine hybrid experiment partially operated by an internal computer system. Apparently stolen from V.E.N.U.S. HQ by Marian during her escape from the city and clearly suffering from some amount of damage taken there.

Currently recovering in the Scrapyard's Hospital.

Mike Townsend and Derrick Kreugar

Members of the Garages: excellent mechanics and friendly musicians. Mike always seems to know what he's gotta do and is a credit to the team. Derrick (his friends call him Der) is a bit unremarkable, but seems to be funny and kind.

Notes

Bastion Progress

3/7 days have passed at the Bastion. Sprout is tending the garden. Astra is keeping herself busy.

Notable Moments

  • Ryshard loses 2sp failing miserably at "rigged" carnivale games. He walks away with a rubber duck as a consolation prize, which he turns into a keychain and gifts to Sandy.
  • Dwell's decision to use the Incense Weasel to calm down Sandy is the biggest of big brain moves given that Sandy is capable of reading the energy of objects and all of the Weasels are technically objects. A better decision could not possibly have been made here
  • Fio is very clearly trying to add Tabor to her "Attractive Men I Can Get to Do Things For Me" club; and I (as the DM) respect that.
