Goblins
Goblins are one of the main kinds of anthroests found in Ayrath. Although they are less prevelent than Elves and Dwarves, they have enough of a presence in the world that they were included in The Union of Tarnyk (and by extension, the Tarnyk Union). Goblins and Orcs have become heavily linked together in society, and although they are two entirely different kinds of anthroests Orcs are also commonly referred to as goblins.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Goblins have a rather humanoid build, although they are typically rather small and scrawny compared to most kinds of anthroests. Their skin tone fluctuates anywhere from a deep green to a dirty brown, and they are often rather scaly. Goblins have large, bat-like ears and often have spindly limbs as well. It is a common belief that goblins have tails, but this is usually not the case.
Ecology and Habitats
Goblins are capable of thriving in any environment that isn't frozen over. They adapt to their surroundings easily, using their incredible intelligence to be able to learn how to survive in their new environment. However, historically they have had a particular fondness for swamplands, where they have been known to burrow under the ground and wait for unsuspecting prey and hide from potential threats. It is widely believed that this is why the Goblin Nation exists primarily on swamplands, although the location of their home was not really their choice, so this is not the case.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Goblins are typically percieved as eating rodents and whatever scraps they can get their hands on from the prey of larger animals, but this is not really the case. While goblins do still eat meat, as a society they have developed a preference for a more plant-based diet, slowly becoming herbivores. Goblins have developed many different hunting techniques over time, but more presently have become incredibly skilled at farming- even in the worst of environments. In fact, goblins are responsible for many of the developments in farming that have occurred since the establishment of The Union of Tarnyk.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Goblins can be found all over Ayrath, and more have begun to appear in The Under Realm as well. While most known goblins live in the Goblin Nation, there are also entire goblin populations that exist in the unoccupied lands between the Tarnyk Union, Excepiterra, and the Littlewood Cluster. There is a shockingly small goblin population in Dracosalus, however.
Average Intelligence
On average, goblins are some of the smartest kinds of anthroests in Ayrath, only beat out by Dragonborns. Its their vast intellect that led to other anthroests once heavily distrusting goblins, as the goblins could easily outsmart other kinds of anthroests (and back then, often would).
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Due to the common distrust of goblins in the old days, they used to live deep in caves that often never got a glimpse of light. Because of this, goblins developed the ability to use echolocation, an ability they have not lost despite having not lived in the absolute darkness for millenia.
Civilization and Culture
Major Organizations
Goblins are naturally most heavily affiliated with the Goblin Nation, but they do still have notable presences outside of this swampland home. Goblins have a rather significant presence in Excepiterra, and have growing populations in The Under Realm and the Littlewood Cluster as well.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
While the goblins once had their own language, it has unfortunately been lost to time. Instead, they are commonly heard speaking common.
History
While goblins diverged in evolution from Anthrones around 250,000 years ago, their recorded history begins with many others around 20,000 years ago.

Average Physique
Goblins tend to be rather weak, not possessing much physical ability. It is this lack of strength that leads to the common partnership between goblins and Orcs, as a sort of "the brains and the brawn" situation. Goblins can rarely do impressive physical feats, and have even been known to struggle with ones that are considered rather basic by other anthroests.
