Drow

The drow are a sub-type of anthroest which are also commonly referred to as "Dark Elves." They were once part of the same society as the Elves, but the Elves cast the drow to the side due to viewing them as incompatable with the society they had built. The Elves believed in nobility and perfection among their people, while the drow had a more flexabile moral code that other Elves looked upon in disgust. It is rare to find drow in Ayrath, but they are incredibly common in The Under Realm.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

While drow were once as widespread as the Elves in Ayrath, they were banished to The Under Realm around the year 3,000 BU. However, while they now lack a presence in Ayrath, they have become the most populus kind of anthroest in The Under Realm (except for Tieflings).

Naming Traditions

While the high and wood Elves do have naming traditions that they cling tightly to, the drow have done away with any naming traditions. The traditions of the other Elves were abandoned by the drow when they were banished to The Under Realm.

Major Organizations

While this was not always the case, the drow possess only one true allegiance in the present day- themselves. While many drow do go along with the wants of The Underking and The Under Realm, they possess to real loyalty to either.

History

While they have technically existed for as long as the Elves have, the drow's history truly begins around the year 4,000 BU, when the other Elves first began to notice their presence within elven society.
