The Prime Materia

Introduction

The Prime Materia is commonly called Gaia or the "Mortal Plane". The main world upon which mortals dwell. Here, magical and deific influences are far less pronounced than on the other planes, making it oftentimes serve as a battleground between various interplanar factions. The second-largest plane, it is only dwarfed in size by Niwaedau, and, since most don't even know that that place exists, it is generally presumed to be the largest. It is also here where the majority of your time on HorizonRP will be spent, and it is the plane that most resembles the earth that we live on. The plane itself is controlled by The Seven Mortal Gods and is composed of 4 continents. The term "Old World" has been created to refer to the first three. The first is Gildaran, sometimes called the "realm of man". Here is where a majority of humans have built their civilizations. The next is Dahu, sometimes called the "magic continent". There elves and dwarves have constructed their wonders. The third is Rehkara, home of primarily the Rehk dynasties. It is rough land of sand and harsh terrain, the last of the Old World continents. The last and newly discovered continent creating the term "New World" is Anoma. Found during the Epoch of Sail Anoma is home to many secrets that many Old World powers are interested in, especially those regarding the "Talidurians".

The Seven Mortal Gods

Since magical and deific influences are far less pronounced on the Prime Materia than on other planes it has become a battlefield for various beings, the Creator Dragon made The Seven Mortal Gods in hopes that they would protect the plane. However, no one knows that there are only 7 Mortal Gods, from the perspective of much of creation there are many gods of the Mortal Plane.

Geography

The geography of the Prime Materia is is very similar to ours, however, across the equator is a tundra belt that wraps around continents and oceans. The further one moves away from this belt, the hotter it gets.

Old World

The Old World is a term created when Anoma (the "New World") was found. It is a way to refer to the three most well-known continents.

Gildaran

The continent of Gildaran and the micro-continent that the Lotus-State is on are often lumped together. Gildaran is made up of a few different macro-regions that contain their own regions. These macro-regions are drawn around national borders more often than not. It is sometimes called the "realm of man".

Dahu

The continent of Dahu contains the homelands of many elves and dwarves and is connected to Gildaran via a land bridge.

Rehkara

Rehkara is a very storied continent with its own diverse cultures and people, all of whom have known both war and peace. Rehkara is home to a unique form of government, and has rather high freedom of the masses in certain areas. Currently, the lands of Rehkara are recoiling from a string of smaller wars that started a larger war, which led the people to demand rest. Trade is coming back to the island en masse as the rich lands are no longer being exploited for war, at least for a time.

New World
