The Seven Mortal Gods

"Go forth, as the protectors of the Mortal Plane."
History
The history of the 7 mortal gods is shrouded in mystery, specifically because the fact that there are only 7 gods of the Prime Materia is one of the closest guarded secrets in history. The Divine Son vs. the Tyrant
The hatred and spite between the Divine Son and the Tyrant stems all the way back to the time just after the Cataclysm. Both desired to achieve order and began to impose their ideas on the mortals that inhabbited the Prime Materia. However each othem looked on the others idea of order and felt anger. The Divine Son believed in simple structure and law to maintain and create order while the Tyrant believed in order through chaos, a lack of strucutre and law. Their anger towards each other boiled over into a battle where they were stopped by the Pure Soul and One-Eyed Prophet. When the Sacred Tribunal was formed it was the Divine Son who put forth the idea that the Dark One and the Tyrant should be barred from participating, this only drove a wedge between the two further. Over the following Ages it is said that sometimes they both use specific mortals as proxies to do battle. The Prime Materia
The Prime Materia is commonly called Gaia or the "Mortal Plane". The main world upon which mortals dwell. Here, magical and deific influences are far less pronounced than on the other planes, making it oftentimes serve as a battleground between various interplanar factions. The second-largest plane, it is only dwarfed in size by Niwaedau, and, since most don't even know that that place exists, it is generally presumed to be the largest. The Seven Mortal Gods
The Divine SonThe Divine Son is the personification of order and dedicates his time to the battle against evil. He adheres to laws of morality and discipline which set him against the Tyrant and the Dark One. However thanks to this he is allied with the Pure Soul and usually the One Eyed Prophet. The Pure Soul
The Pure Soul is the deity seeing over the dominions of Peace, Healing, and the Home. She focuses on the tranquillity of life and enjoys serenity in all of it’s forms. This sets her against the Tyrant and the Dark One but allied with the Divine Son and usually the One Eyed Prophet. The One Eyed Prophet
The One Eyed Prophet is a seer who gave up one of their eyes for the ability to see not only fates but secrets that the 5 senses cannot find. She adheres to laws or rules but if needed will break them in order to create a favourable future. Her personality does not set her against the Tyrant or the Dark One, but fate often does. She is allied with the Pure Soul and the Divine Son. The Allfather
The Allfather is the god of Hunt and War, who focuses on the glory of a good fight and enjoys the thrill of violence and bloodshed. He very rarely interferes with combat directly. He finds the affairs and events of the other Mortal gods to be tedious and boring, save for the Muse. The Muse
The Muse is the Mortal God of Travel and Luck. They are carefree and do not even really care about being a god, they mostly just wish to be a happy-go-lucky Gaian. She finds the affairs and events of the other Mortal gods to be tedious and boring, save for the Allfather. The Dark One
The Dark One is a twisted being who generally steals and sucks the life from her followers. She adheres to no laws or rules save her owns which always seem to conveniently fit her needs. This sets her against the Divine Soul, the Pure Soul and usually the One Eyed Prophet. She only gets along with the Tyrant. The Tyrant
The Tyrant cares little for those of the world as in his eyes, a small ant doesn’t make a difference in the colony of ants. He focuses on creating true order through absolute chaos. This sets him against the Divine Soul, the Pure Soul and usually the One Eyed Prophet. However, he is in turn allied with the Dark One.
The Zealous Vessels
The gods never show their true forms before the denizens of the Prime Materia and instead appear as "vessels" or facets. For example, the Divine Son will appear and act as Sequestus, Aed or Karmeny as necessary but not as himself. This truth is unknown to all who live on the mortal plane, from their point of view their plane is filled with many different gods, some with similarities. The Sacred Tribunal
The Sacred Tribunal is an institution originally created by the One Eyed Prophet, the Divine Son, the Pure Soul, Ceithus for the sole purpose of defending the Prime Materia. On the eve, during or after a major event anywhere on the World Tree a tribunal will be called to decide a course of action. The True Dragons which take part in the tribunal are Ceithus, Lacerta, Xulrazzis. However, Lacerta and Xulrazzis only show up if they absolutely have to. As do the Muse and the Allfather. The Dark One and The Tyrant are not allowed within the Tribunal but generally, when needed, everyone save for Grytuss and Dirgodog work to ensure that the Prime Materia doesn't collapse.Remove these ads.
