Armusians
“These streets are the oldest in the human world. Each cobblestone carries more of a weight of tradition and history than most noble families. Tread with care.”
Racial Abilities
Short and slender, the Armusians are a far less warbound people than their Gravican cousins. The Arumusians thrive off of trade, commerce, and most of all religion. The Armusians are an exceptionally perceptive people, both with great eyesight and ability to read people. Moreso than other Humans. They use this eyesight both in hunting, using bows, crossbows and, more recently, primitive firearms, and merely in spotting. Great Eyesight: Armusians almost always have perfect 20/20 eyesight, or better. Ranged Finesse: An Armusian gets +1 on rolls to determine the outcome of firing a ranged weapon. See Cold Resistance.Redlines
Though an Armusian's eyesight is great for a human, it is not supernaturally good. As such, they can see a candleflame at 35 miles, and read a book with large text over someone's shoulder from 20 feet.History
The Armusian States are a relatively recent political entity, the result of a group of nations swearing fealty to the Brother Church in an act to maintain their independence from the Gravican empire. The strong religious zeal of the Armusian Church has heavily influenced these vassals, and they occasionally have an inquisition to get rid of spies and ne’er-do-wells.Naming Traditions

Culture
Culture and cultural heritage
Generally, they’re pretty peaceful and prosperous, as the Gravicans fend off the inhuman invaders and the remaining kingdoms between Armusia and Gravica are simply too small to even consider aggression against the Armusians. Armusians as a people are very pious, and when the church called for exploration of the rest of the world on the signs of Anomalous, the Armusians responded. They already had an impressive fleet of merchant vessels, and their expertise in this helped enormously with creating the colossal, deep-draft vessels they’d need to cross the ocean.
The first expeditions into the previously assumed to be endless western seas found little success, but though their ships were lost, the spirit that bore them westward was not, and the mantle was taken up by ever more people in search of adventure. It was only a matter of time before they discovered the prophesized new land, and almost a decade after they began this quest of western discovery, their goal was realized when the Kept Promise spotted land on their western horizon. Their shipboard priest, with instructions from the church, dubbed the land Anoma, after the brother who had set them upon their journey. Once discovered, this set off a furor of exploration and colonization, and it is this climate of progress that still fills the Armusian Arch-Princedom. Indeed, the feeling of exploration mixed with the ordered spread of colonization is almost the defining split in their culture.
Almost all Armusians speak Armusian and Common.
Religion
Largely and closely related to the church, it would seem to make sense that their society has in no small part molded itself around the church’s own liturgical boundaries. Order and Chaos, and the balance between is of utmost importance to the Brother Church, and the Armusian people by and large fit into one of the two categories. The Sequestusians consider the upholding of law, order, ritual and social structures to be their primary concern, while the Anoms strongly believe that man ought to be in a constant state of discovery, change, and progress. Though at times they have internal strife, most of the time they work well together, each group filling the roles that fit them best without forming a rigid, castelike social structure. Armusians in Anoma are largely of the Anom faith, because of the exploration that side of their culture promotes, but there are still a good number of Sequestusians, working in the government houses and churches in the colonies.Family
The Armusian family structure is an atypically a small one, with families only generally having one or two children. In most Armusian households of first children, the elders of the family come to live with them as they age, and so their family units are relatively tight-knit.Food
Armusians enjoy food from around the world, importing food from all over the human polities, but also, since they maintain the best relations with the other species out of the human empires, they import food from those places as well. This is for the best, as, generally speaking, the food they have in Armus is bland, and to the point. For example, they traditionally boil their steak. You can live on it, but it won't be an exciting life.Common Dress code
Though the commoners wear garb typical to all humans, primarily made of cow leather from their fields or the leather of wild animals from their hunt, they are typically very well made, as Armusians have something of a tradition of leatherworking. Their nobles are known to wear poofy, outlandish outfits which match the fashions of whichever of the Armusian states they hail from.
Accessories
An Armusian is almost never found without his copy of the Writ of Balance.Art & Architecture
Armusians thoroughly enjoy big-band music, painted and carved art, fine jewelry, and high fashion. Many outlandish styles have come from the courts of the Armusians, and there's little more that an Armusian noble loves than flaunting their wealth through decorating their mansions with exquisitely painted landscape scenes, or wearing fine jewels and the latest style.

Long ago, Calois was the Armusian capital of Anoma, but everything changed when the Voudr attacked. With Calois gone, the Armusian people had no familiar place to call home, and migrated to places like Rhosland, flooding it with refugee Armusians; though some never quite fit in and yearned for their old home. Now thanks to Sequestus, refugees from the kingdom of Calois have established a new home on the northern tip of inhabited Anoma. In the old world, the capitol of the Armusian empire is the port city of Armus, which is the most holy site in the Brother Church, supposedly where the brothers Anomalous and Sequestus created the first humans. The city is low to the ground, with few buildings rising above one story, and so it is a massive metropolis. The only buildings that are larger are generally the noble estates, and the cathedrals, of which there are so many that the city is sometimes referred to as the "City of Cathedrals."
