Zisleth

Zisleth is a small polar continent on the world of Magicians' End. Although it is usually designated as a subcontinent due to the nature of the underlying techtonic plates, if we were to go purely on the size, that would be a generous assessment since it is closer to the scale of a large island than to a fully fledged continent.

Climate

Zisleth is icebound and uninhabitable in the modern post Sundering world, although it was never particularly hospitable even in earlier times but its current climate precludes any attempt to recolonise it.

History

Magicains' End - Snowborne - Axial Tower by DMFW with Midjourney
Zisleth played an important if relatively short role in the history of the realm. Opened up in the age of the New Kingdoms by the Great Dukedom of Peld, the settlement of Iceholt became the capital of the Kingdom of Snowborne where the Mage Kings and their arcane acolytes made subtle and valuable enchanted items at the Axial Tower. In a world that was otherwise dominated by the Trinity Moon Triple Enfolding, the Kingdom of Snowborne was their only true rival, much smaller but very strong in magical knowledge and power.   It was on this continent that the Thousand Year Alliance with the Fey was made and then broken, leading to the terrible consequences of the Sundering. And it was the destruction of Iceholt and the death of all it inhabitants that gave the realm the name of Magicians' End which it bears today.
