Tylisfort

Tylisfort was founded in 9581 BPC and became the first major port on the southern coast of Myruthea, its growth closely connected with the early settlement and growth of Punjuki. It has always had a symbiotic relationship with the Punjuki city of Katrapetch (which is a little older) providing services for the trading of phryne and export channels to allow goods to flow from Myruthea to the southern continent.   The city escaped the worst of the effects of the Sundering due to its southerly location and was an important settlement in the grouping known as the Twelve Wise Ones as civilisation recovered during the Long Thaw.   The conquest of Tylisfort by Emperor Hanrith I was a pivotal moment in the foundation of the Old Pale Empire in 4542 BPC.   The growth of Jebbin City towards the end of the Long Thaw and the much later success of its close rival, Nephatar, which eclipsed it in the post Planar Conformation recovery, has diminished the importance of Tylisfort in the modern world.   During the Time of Terrors in the 3rd millennium APC, Clarise Vabatan established a secret mixing house in the city for the manufacture of Synaptic Unbinding Potion on behalf of the Sisters of Vabatan as related in Volume 9 of the Diary of Clarise Vabatan.     Today Tylisfort is considered only a second rank city within the Trans-Oceanic Empire, and although it still competes for trade and influence with the newer settlements in the region, it is more often seen as a centre of historic rather than economic importance.
