Downtime Activities (English)
What is Downtime?
Downtime is a resource every character accumulates as time passes in the real world, for every day that passes, each of your characters gains one DT or Downtime.
Although the reset period for a new day for this is considered to be at Midnight GMT, our downtime tracking command does not account for this and only starts counting your downtime when you run the !dt command.
What can Downtime be used for?
Downtime can be used to perform a large number of activities outside of quests and explorations. Some of these activities include:
- Hunting in the wild areas of the region for pelts and creature materials.
- Mining for rare ore and valuable gemstones.
- Creating powerful potions to aid you in combat.
- Cooking a meal to energize you on your travels.
How much Downtime can a character have?
The amount of Downtime a character can have has no limit. Are there other ways to earn Downtime?
The only method of earning downtime is through passive accumulation over time, there is no other way to gain it aside from waiting.Contract Work
A character can pay/request other characters to spend their Downtime to perform an activity for them such as crafting an item, keep in mind that the character(s) you are soliciting the service from must have enough Downtime to perform it and all checks are made with that character's stats instead of yours. Players can also join you on your hunting and mining Downtime activities, but they cannot spend their own downtime along side you if they do not normally have access to the area you are visiting, any rewards you earn can be shared with the players that accompanied you. Background Bonuses
A character may have a background that helps them perform better on a Downtime activity, to see if your character's background gives you any benefits make sure to consult the Downtime Background Bonuses. article.Tool checks
