Gem Faceting
When precious stones such as amethysts, rubies, and diamonds are mined of the depths of the world they are in a rough state, for them to increase a higher value before being sold they must be faceted first, a faceted gem sells at the market for a higher percentage than the 30% limit on re-sold items. An example of this is a normal aquamarine that sells for 150gp and a Round Brilliant aquamarine that sells for 200gp.
