Time Dragons
Time Dragons, sometimes called Sapphire Dragons or Chronurgy Dragons, are one of the five species of Psionic Dragons (Gem Dragons).
Unlike other True Dragons, Psionic Dragons are omnivores that can sustain themselves on cosmic energy for long periods of time without needing to eat, allowing them to survive in the far reaches of the Astral Sea. They also have innate Psionic abilities and telepathy.
The Psionic Dragons are believed to embody cosmic forces, similarly to the Primordial deities. Time Dragons are believed to embody, as their name suggests, Time.
Time Dragons are the most mysterious dragon species on record, not much is known about them, most of what we do know comes from questionable secondary accounts. Some rumours claim that Time Dragons can create temporal gates, allowing them to travel through time to alter the past. Others claim they exist to prevent people from messing with time, hunting down and eliminating anomalies.
But most testimonies seem to agree on the fact that Time Dragons are known to track and hunt Aberrations, whom they seem to have an inherent mission to eliminate.
Appearance:
Time Dragons are quadrupedal with thin membranes for wings. They have sleek bodies, short limbs and elaborate head crests. Instead of scales their bodies are crystal-like, translucent and faceted, resembling the deep blue of sapphire gems. A Time Dragon’s psionic power manifests visibly in the gem-like spines that hover around the dragon's head, forming their crest, and around their tail. Rumour has it that Time Dragons begin their lives with a dull grey colouring and smooth bodies, gradually gaining their translucent colouring and hard, geometric bodies as they age.Element:
Time Dragons possess psionic powers and can release a wave of temporal energy in a high-pitched, nearly inaudible sound that temporarily freezes creatures in time.Lair:
Time Dragons are said to make their lairs in the ruins of ancient civilisations or temples to dead gods, nourishing themselves on the memory of a time long gone. Time Dragons are also said to collect historical records, objects from lost cultures, and treasures from long-gone creators. These include relics, old documents, books of history, and even historical weapons and armour.
