Dream Dragons

Dream Dragons, sometimes called Moonstone Dragons or Fey Dragons, not to be confused with Faerie Dragons, are mischievous fun loving creatures infused with the magic of the Feywild. They are usually friendly, enjoying playing games and harmless tricks on mortals, they are rarely intentionally cruel, though they can get carried away.   Dream Dragons get their name from their ability to manipulate Dreams. They are able to peer into other creatures' dreams and alter what they see, allowing the dragon to play tricks on the dreamer or even influence them.   Dream Dragons are also known to open and maintain planar portals, allowing the Dragon to connect their favourite places to their lair in the Feywild for easy access.   Dream Dragons prefer to avoid conflict, using their mist-like breath to put creatures to sleep before fleeing, using their power over dreams to punish the attackers with cruel visions.

Appearance:

  Dream Dragons are graceful and elegant creatures with opalescent scales or a blueish green and mossy fur that dangles down from their necks and their chests. They are quadrupedal with large wings that rise from their backs, a pointed horn at the tip of their snout and another crescent shaped one at the tip of their head.

Element:

  Dream Dragons are associated with psionic energy that they can exhale as a deadly breath attack. They can also exhale a mist-like breath that can lull creatures into a deep sleep.

Lair:

  Dream Dragons make their lairs in the Feywild, anywhere from the cores of giant trees to caves hidden behind waterfalls. They fill their lairs with a variety of objects, from gold, shiny gems and magical trinkets to pretty plants and pieces of literature. Dream Dragons also like to create planar portals in their lairs, connecting it to their favourite places across the planes. This makes a Dream Dragon’s lair a valuable portal network if you’re able to befriend one.
