Drakes

Drakes are quadrupedal Dragonkin that lack wings, the ability to fly, and range in size from a large dog to that of a draft horse. Drakes are incapable of humanoid speach, and have an animalistic intelligence, similar to that of a dog, an animal they are often compared too.

Drakes are rarely found in the wild and are most commonly found as guard for the wealthy elite, like larger, more dangerous guard dogs, with there being a lucrative industry in the breeding and sale of Drakes. Drakes also make for great hunting companions or mounts.

The first known records of Drakes date back to the late Silver Age. They are believed to be descended from mutated dragon eggs, either created naturally or from magic experimentation.
