The Gardens
Named for the large forested park in the district's centre, this large area of wild landscape is home to Kalistran's grove, marked by the awe-inspiring Othuan Tree at the centre. From its size, it is clearly an ancient example of these rare trees, reaching some 2780 meters in height.
The Grove is protected by The Voiceless a Druid circle, and Stones Call the rangers lodge, as well as Vermanthanax the ancient Horned Dragon. Most of Port Kolin are unaware of Vermanthanax presence within the city as, generally Vermanthanax only shows themselves to devout followers of Kalistran who come seeking guidance at the foot of the Othuan tree.
The Grove and surrounding forest sit within a wealthy area of Port Kolin. However, the presence of Kalistran's Grove and the visible reminder of the Othuan tree has meant over the years, all of the wealthy homes here aspire to follow the lead of the grove. Some of these homes have been purchased by the Kalistran church and are used as places of education, housing druids, rangers and others drawn to the natural world, the remainder are owned by wealthy families who work towards the protection and preservation of the natural world.
The District has a distinct feel about it, the sounds of the city seem more remote, the presence of small wild animals, not normally found around a city is everyday and those who live within the district tell of feeling more at one with the world around them.
