Voyager
Cut loose, they roam the stars.
Voyager is the 14th rank in the Hierarchy of the Occult. Voyagers represent the penultimate step before reaching the status of Deity through The Final Anchoring. Cut loose from the world they were born in as Heirchildren, they voyage between the many worlds of the Mythic Maw in preparation for their future role as a Deity. This gives them nearly infinite freedom compared to the previous rank, with a particularly harsh price; Voyagers are unable to ever return to their original world.
This price taxes some more than others. Many Voyagers are content to travel the universe and fulfill their own duty, but bitterness and isolation walk hand in hand. Voyager wars have broken out and settled like rolling waves, leaving the splintered factions locked between two monolothic groups; the Meddlers that group together and interfere with mortal affairs to stave off loneliness, and the Disciples of the Full Moon that revere their task and enforce their own collective isolation. However, Voyagers are Voyagers, and even the most hostile settlements can provide temporary relief from the darkness between worlds.
And after eons of wandering, even the most restless of Voyagers will someday find a place to call home.
