Newmoon

Newmoon is the 1st and lowest rank in the Hierarchy of the Occult, representing a completely mundane living creature with no connection to magic. It is the rank currently held by the grand majority of life in the Mythic Maw, and without the ability to sense most forms of magic many Newmoons are completely unaware that it exists in the first place. Of course, even without their knowledge, magic is everywhere. It is only a matter of time before an unaware Newmoon is plucked from their mundane life into a world seemingly beyond their understanding, and they take that all-important first step up the Hierarchy.   Even in daylight, the phase of the moon may still change.
