Natural Witchcraft
Bend the branches of the world.
Earth Witchcraft, Wood Witchcraft, and Sky Witchcraft form the 5th, 6th, and 7th ranks of the Hierarchy of the Occult respectively. The trio of ranks together is known as Natural Witchcraft. These ranks represent the next level of Witch above Alchemist, and the first "proper" Witch rank, as Natural Witches are the first respective ranks that have a full internal supply of magic to use for casting spells. After their training as an Alchemist and awakening as a Witch, each prospective student is placed into one of the three Natural types— Earth, Wood, and Sky— depending on their innate qualities as a magic user. Earth Witches are experts in worldly matters and living bodies, Wood Witches are experts in emotional matters and self-actualization, and Sky Witches are experts in other magical matters. Together, they were collectively ranked by overall ability (not to be confused with individual usefulness) with Earth at the bottom and Sky at the top.
Witches are the skilled specialists of the magical world. As natural aptitude is believed to be hereditary, Witches traditionally form their own families for the purposes of training— even going so far as to trade children with one another if a child is better suited for one family or another. These families have had far-reaching conflicts in the past, but have now settled to the level of petty arguing and passive aggressiveness. All manner of people throughout the Hierarchy go to Witches for assistance, either as magic-oriented "doctors" or commissioned specialists in a specific field.
This has made Natural Witchcraft one of the most financially and socially stable roles in modern magical society.
