Familiar Yet Unique: Races Reimagined

While Tanaria’s inhabitants may include races familiar to those versed in fantasy, their identities, histories, and cultures are uniquely shaped by the world they call home. Here are a few examples of how Tanaria reimagines classic archetypes:   Avenarii: Believed to be descendants of the God of Winds, the Avenarii are bird-like humanoids revered for their connection to the skies. Legends tell of a time when they ruled the heavens under the guidance of their divine creator, a harpy eagle-like deity. Now living in remote territories, they hold fast to their traditions of flight, song, and harmony with the winds.   Rhu’thor: Towering and nomadic, the Rhu’thor are bull- and cow-like humanoids found mainly in the plains of Tanaria. Known for their strength and honorable way of life, they navigate the world with an uncanny sense of direction. Though peaceful by nature, they are ferocious protectors of their people and lands when provoked.
These are just a few examples of how Tanaria reimagines and reinvents familiar fantasy archetypes. Each race is deeply tied to the world’s history, geography, and mythos, ensuring their presence feels authentic and fresh within the context of Tanaria.

A World of Diversity in Stature

This height chart showcases the incredible range of mortal races in Tanaria, from the towering Rhu'thor, the tallest of the mortal races outside of those with giant heritage, to the diminutive Halflings, who average around three feet tall. Humans, standing at an average height of 5'5", serve as a benchmark for many. Each race's height reflects not only their physiology but also the environments and cultures they inhabit, contributing to the rich diversity that defines Tanaria.
