Taurë Melehtalda
Taurë Melehtalda, or the "Forest of Great Trees," is a vast expanse of ancient woodland that stretches across the western reaches of the region. To the south, the forest borders the rolling Emyn Arnen hills, while to the north, it meets the shores of Lurkwood Lake. The forest enjoys a temperate coastal climate, with mild winters and warm, humid summers. Frequent mists roll in from the sea, creating an ethereal and somewhat eerie atmosphere within the forest.
The forest is dominated by towering trees, some reaching heights that defy belief. Sunlight struggles to penetrate the dense canopy, creating a twilight world on the forest floor. Lush ferns and mosses carpet the ground, while a variety of fungi, some bioluminescent, illuminate the gloom. The forest is home to a diverse array of creatures, from deer and elk to wolves and bears. A variety of birds, including owls, hawks, and woodpeckers, inhabit the treetops. Deeper within the forest, more unusual creatures are said to dwell, including elusive fey creatures.
