Lurkwood Lake

Lurkwood Lake is a vast expanse of water, its surface often shrouded in mist. Located east of Dúven Taurë, the lake plays a significant role in the region's ecology. The southern shore of the lake is home to the bustling town of Aelin-uial, while the village of Duskbourne sits nestled on its northern shores.   The lake has a long and intriguing history. Before the cataclysmic events of the Chain Breaker War, Lurkwood Lake was significantly smaller. However, during the war, a series of devastating earthquakes and tidal waves caused the lake to dramatically expand, flooding vast areas of the surrounding land. The remnants of a long-forgotten village, submerged beneath the lake's surface, serve as a haunting reminder of this catastrophic event. The ghostly outlines of submerged trees and buildings can still be seen beneath the surface, creating an unsettling sight—the twisted branches and tangled roots creating the appearance of an underwater forest, bathed in an otherworldly glow when touched by the dappled sunlight.
