Númellótë
Númellótë, often referred to as "Flower of the West" by the elves, is a sprawling city that dominates the southeastern shore of Nendë Telpingwë. This magnificent city is the largest in Avaerûn, a testament to Elven ingenuity and artistry. High Elves form the majority of the population, but the city is a melting pot of cultures, with halflings, humans, dwarves, goliaths, even a small but growing community of tabaxi and dragonborn, though these latter two races often face prejudice.
Númellótë is a city of distinct districts. The Elven District, with its elegant architecture and vibrant gardens, is the heart of the city. The Market District is a bustling hub of activity, where goods from across the land are traded. The Arts District is renowned for its theaters, art galleries, and workshops, attracting talented artisans from across the continent. A more industrial district houses forges, workshops, and the city's bustling harbor. The city also has a district where the less fortunate reside, including many tabaxi and dragonborn, who often face discrimination and struggle to find their place within society.
The city's economy is diverse. Trade is a major factor, with ships and caravans arriving and departing daily, carrying goods to and from distant lands. The elves are renowned for their artistry, producing exquisite jewelry, weapons, and magical items that are highly sought after by collectors. The city also boasts a thriving academic community, with renowned scholars and mages conducting research and sharing their knowledge.
