Atlantea
Atlantea is a vastly diverse country, with all kinds of different biomes and landscapes scattered through out. On the southern shore of the Briggs Peninsula lies Konaset, the largest city in Atlantea and the capital. The culture and architecture of Atlantea has more of a European and North American vibe and style to it.
This is also a land scarred by recent battles, the most devastating of which being the war against the Undead Kings, which culminated in the Battle of Konaset. Now the Western Reaches sits largely empty and desolate, mainly only populated by a few scattered tribes of Native Atlanteans.
Since then, recovery has been slow. And now there are reports of strange and bizarre occurrences across the land, but in particular around an area known as the World Tear. . .
Geography
Atlantea has a wide variety of different geological features and terrain, from forests, to mountains, to deserts, and even some frozen tundra in the north. In the east, there are sprawling fields of grassy plains and croplands, with some small forests painted throughout. The capital city, Konaset sits on the southern shore of the Briggs Peninsula on the eastern coast.
To the west from there lie the Crazy Mountains, or the Crazies as they are called by the locals, which connects with the Cascade Mountains that span across the northern range of the continent.
Beyond there lies what some call now No-Man's Land. The Western Reaches. The west used to be settled. There used to be towns and cities scattered through out. It used to be a bustling trade region. Through the Western Reaches spans a series of rivers that each meet up in a singular lake called the Land of Rivers Lake, or otherwise known as Lor Lake.
Ecosystem Cycles
Atlantea has a more temperate climate with more 'normal' seasons than other continents. The one place in Atlantea where this is not true however is in the north, along the Cascade Mountains, which follows a seasonal pattern similar to Highwind.
Climate
The majority of Atlantea enjoys a more temperate climate, while the north suffers through long winters and long nights for the majority of its year.
Fauna & Flora
Being such a diverse continent with diverse landscapes and biomes, Altantea has some of the most diverse Mystimon ecosystems in the world.
The People
Atlantea for the most part is populated by humans, mainly of the High Atlantean and Native Atlantean ethnicities. For much of its history, the land was settled only by Native Atlantean tribes. Until white man, the High Atlantean people, migrated over from Highwind in the Second Age. The High Atlantean people have a more North American / European culture and architecture style, while the Native Atlantean people have a more Native American culture.
There are also small Saurus settlements, as well as Ahihana groups, as well as some small family groups of Wekan living in seclusion scattered through out the continent.
Natural Resources
Atlantea has a wide variety of rich resources from several different kinds of mineral and metal to all kinds of lumber, and rich fertile soil perfect for crops.
History
The most tragic event in recent history happened just a little under 10 years ago. For ages long past, the Western Reaches was a bustling and busy trade destination in the country. That is until they attacked. . .
When the Undead Kings attacked, everything changed. Their armies of undead razed everything to the ground, marched right through Reinkon, what was once the capital of Western Atlantea, killing everyone in sight. Very few made it out alive and managed to get to safety in the east.
All of this culminated in a mass battle for the fate of Atlantea itself known today as the Battle of Konaset, when the Undead Kings' armies besieged Konaset. But the King's armies managed to hold them at bay as a party of adventurers finally defeated their leader, Brazius, in the Crazy Mountains.
Today the Western Reaches sits as a solemn reminder of all that was lost when the Undead Kings attacked. The King has vowed to one day re-settle the Western Reaches, however to day there have been complications preventing his plan.
Tourism
Most people come here to tour the huge bustling city of Konaset, which was also the site of one of the largest battles in recent memory, the Battle of Konaset. Today, a statue has been erected in the middle of the city of the heroes who helped save Atlantea from the Hordes of the Undead Kings.
