Psiclare

While Psiconus will run from danger, Psiclare will run toward it! These reptiles are much larger than its previous form, standing about as tall as a person now. Psiclares are now more ferocious than their previous forms, and will stand up for themselves when they feel cornered, however they are still kind and gentle like its previous forms. So approach with care, and try not to startle it too much. It is likely they knew you were coming long before you knew, however. They don't often pay people any mind. But if you threaten it in any way, it can use its telekinetic powers to toss you aside as though you were nothing.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Psiclare is a much larger creature than Psiconus, about 1.5 to 2 times larger, with a much larger and more ornate crown upon its head, and longer forearms which it seems to use to go between walking bipedally and quadrupedally. Along the outside of its forearms are small and thing sail-like appendages that do not appear to have any particular use at this time. It also has a sail-like spines running down its back. they also have a long tail.

Biological Traits

The crown upon its head is the focal point of its telepathic and telekinetic powers.

Genetics and Reproduction

At this stage, these creatures will eventually move on from one colony and find a mate and form their own colony.

Growth Rate & Stages

Psiclare Evo's from Psiconus and will later Evo into Psimorph.

Ecology and Habitats

Psiclare makes its home in caves or hollows, either down in the Deep, or in canyons or valleys or mountains.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Like its previous forms, Psiclare feeds on mushrooms and other plant life. It's favourite food is the mushroom, Glow Cap.

Behaviour

While still kind and gentle like its previous forms, it will now stand and defend itself when it feels threatened, where its previous forms would run and hide.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Female Psiclares will act as a sort of mother or queen in large family groups with other Psicon and Psiconus. Male Psiclares act more as guards and will fiercely defend their colonies.

Domestication

With how intelligent these creatures are and their kind nature, many people have taken to domesticating and training them to defend their properties or to help out on farms or ranches or other kinds of manual labour.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Many people will exploit Psiclare's psychic powers to help out on farms and other kinds of manual labour. Many have begun to wonder if, with how intelligent these creatures are, if we should really be exploiting them in this way. At what point does this become a form of slavery?

Facial characteristics

It has a larger and more ornate crown upon its head, while its big eyes have now narrowed, and small bony ridges have formed along its cheeks.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Psiclare are found mostly in caves and hollows in the Deep, canyons and valleys, mostly in the Crazy Mountains in Atlantea, Dragron Valley and Mount Hellfire in Almahna, and the Cinder Peaks in Olympus.

Average Intelligence

These creatures are highly intelligent, and many have begun to speculate if they might be near sentient intelligence. If so, one would wonder if it is fair for us to use and exploit them in the way that we do.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They have powerful psychic powers, including telepathic, telekinetic, and precognitive powers.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

They have a symbiotic relationship with Batro.

Discovery

From the notes of Doctor Ivan Sanderson.

"Since my discovery and documentation of Psiconus, I suspected that perhaps it could Evo even further. So Jane and I stay out there for a number of months more, to continue observing the family group. We observed as the creatures moved back down the mountain and migrated back to their hollows in the canyons. And yet as we observed, Jane couldn't help but notice that there appeared to be something organized in their social structure. Almost as though they had a leader of some sort. Some leader that we could not see.

"Could they be answering to something inside the caves?" wondered Jane. As I observed further it appeared she could be right. But how would we be able to determine that without disturbing the creatures? We would have to sneak past them and into the caves where they seemed to congregate. But doing so would be quite difficult if not impossible with psychic Mystimon!

As we continued to observe, however, Jane grew impatient and just went on ahead, with no mind toward the large group of creatures she would likely disturb! I was quite perturbed with her rash decision, but could do nothing but remain behind and observe from afar.

As she tells it, from her own words, this is what she discovered: She found that they were congregating a larger creature which hid deep in the cave. As she approached, she says it seemed as though it saw her coming but didn't pay her much mind. It didn't seem to care about her presence at all. She explains that the creature was much larger than Psiconus, and the crown on its head was larger and more ornate than Psiconus, and its fore arms were longer and it seemed to move around both bipedally and quadrupedally. This one that she saw seemed to be a female and was acting as a sort of mother figure to the group. But she also noticed that long its forearms were what seemed to be thin sail-like appendages, and she wonders if it could perhaps be capable of flight some day?

Might there be another Evo form? We have to wonder as I scold Jane for her impetuous actions!"
