Flamvelle Isle

Flamvelle Isle is lcoated off the sourthern coast of Southern Midasfjall at the edge of the great ocean and is the native home of the Fire Genasi. The isle is formed around an active volcano known to the genasi as Agorimegali. The main genasi population live within Flamvelle; the settlement at the base of the foothills of Agorimegali which was built around a pool of bubbling lava that has remained active for as long as the genasi can remember. The genasi believe that Agorimegali is a deific being born of the Elemental Primes Hyperion and Gaia. They consider the lava pool that lies at the center of Flamvelle to be where Agorimegali created the Fire Genasi people and consider the pool to be a sacred place. When a Fire Genasi dies, their body is taken to the lava pool and is lowered in as part of their funeral rites. To them, this symbolises a return to Agorimegali where their soul joins the collective that burns within the heart of the volcano.
The foothills surrounding Agorimegali extend south covering a lot of the isle's surface area. They are rich with metals and minerals that the Genasi mine from several small mines located along the main road which weaves through the foothills and connects the eastern logging camp to Flamvelle. Metals are forged into spear and arrow heads for hunting, while precious gems are gathered to be traded in Myraan during the summer when the fire genasi take over governance of the City of Four Elements. The foothills provide the Genasi with a source of meat as they are home to a unique species of Giant Boar known as Emboar. These copper furred hogs are tough and aggressive but they provide a lot of meat which has a delectable spicy taste to it. The Emboar are not the only inhabitants of the foothills as they are also home to various species of flying creature which have migrated from the mainland to settle on the isle.
The region beyond Agorimegali's foothills is known as The Magma Fields. The Magma Fields are a single rocky plain dotted with searing hot magma pools that are fed by the heart of Agorimegali deep beneath the isle. Most inhabitants of the isle avoid The Magma Fields as they are the epicenter for a starnge phenomena that only occurs within; the creatures within have adapted to the environment over time granting them fiery traits. Chief among these creatures is a legendary salamander-like being known to the Fire Genasi as Salazzir.
At the eastern and western reaches of the Isle there are two small forests. The forests are known as the eastern and western Emberwind Forests and boast species of specially adapted pine trees that can grow within the drought-like conditions on the Isle, as well as xerophilus species of Juniper and Olive trees. With Flamvelle Isle being so isolated, there is not much in the way of game in the forests. The creatures that tend to make their homes there are species of sea bird and flying dinosaur which hunt fish from the ocean. The fire genasi have a logging camp at each of the forests where lumber is extracted before being transported by dinosaur and cart to Flamvelle to be used as building material.
On the northern shore, the genasi have a small fishing outpost. The outpost is used to house the genasi's rowboats that they use for fishing, as well as the longships that they use to sail across to the coast of Southern Midasfjall before travelling overland to Myraan during the change of seasons.

Geography

The isle is volcanic in nature and is still slowly expanding due to the activity of the Agorimegali volcano. The western region of the isle is slightly higher in elevation than the east, although both eastern and western Emberwind Forests stand above sea level. The central region of the isle is dominated by a craggy plain of rock dotted with pools of searing hot magma that is known as The Magma Fields. The Magma Fields are relatively flat and, due to the presence of lava so close to the surface, the ground is incredibly hot making it unlivable for plantlife. The eastern side of Agorimegali features streams of slowly flowing lava that meet the ocean on the southern shoreline. Extending from the southern slop of Agorimegali, there is a region of foothills that form a spine along the southern coastline of the isle. The foothills feature tough grasses and scraggly woodland that can survive the dry conditions near the volcano.

Climate

Owing to the presence of Agorimegali; the Isle's active volcano, combined with the constant cool sea winds from the surrounding ocean, the climate on Flamvelle Isle is hot and dry.
